Easy way to reduce trillions in deficit
Indeed, Private Fire Departments are such an example of how more efficient asking some to pay a "fee" really is. It's not like those things spread from non-fee to fee houses, after all.
Problem is liberals try to create laws simply to criminalize people they don't like, they don't come up with common sense regulations. Businesses don't mind some regulations, there does need to be ground rules, they do mind when it so much red tape they have to hire lawyers just to run their business.
Making regulations just to make regulations is counterproductive and just makes life harder for those that do their best to follow the rules, unethical individuals that just don't care will ignore the regulations and probably pay off politicians so there are loopholes and they can simply ignore the rules.
Please check out the story I posted about the recent conviction of Lee Farkas, the majority owner of what had been one of the nation's largest mortgage companies, on all 14 counts in a $3 billion fraud trial. Deregulation only benefits the criminals.
Actually it had more to do with the employees of the SEC being busy downloading porn instead of doing their jobs, the amount of regulations had nothing to do with it.
High-ranking officials at the Securities and Exchange Commission spent hundreds of hours viewing pornographic videos and websites on government-owned computers instead of monitoring the country's financial system, according to an agency watchdog's memo obtained late Thursday.
Over the past 2 1/2 years, while the entire financial system was flirting with disaster, the SEC's Inspector General conducted probes that found 31 employees spending much of their time on the clock watching porn while being paid up to $220,000 per year to oversee the economy's biggest players. The report involves cases as recent as 4 weeks ago and indicates that some of the employees concerned are still working at the SEC.

So the individual would have been caught long ago with existing regulations or even fewer regulations if the SEC hadn't been too busy oogling naked people...
Banks that lost all their money should die. The government wasting tax payer money on losing enterprises is only going to turn the government into a losing enterprise. A bank that bankrupts deserves to die and all the guys who put their money on a bank that went bank rupt and didn't take their money away in time should also lose. We cannot pretend the gov. to be a Deus Ex Machina that can help private corporations stay alive more time than they deserve.
2)privatize all schools, the NASA,the FDA etc etc(all except the military, police and courts)...a dollar in the private sectors is always a better investment than a dollar in the public
3)deregulate,deregulate,deregulate
4)a flat 5% tax,or a fair 2% tax+VAT
5)VOTE RON PAUL 2012

If they were forced by the Federal Government to make those loans then the brunt of the responsibility is the Government for forcing them into the situation.
Except they weren't. Stop living in denial, banks going bankrupt is the banks' fault. Just because you are private, it doesn't mean you are perfect. And even if it was the government's fault, giving bailouts and basically nationalism the debt sounds so incompatible with you... But of course, you are not so much about small government as you are about obeying the rich overlords that control your favorite news media.

Actually the Government was: Community Reinvestment Act.
It forced banks to make loans to people that couldn't afford said loans, Barack Obama and ACORN helped this along by suing banks for "discrimination" when it was the fact they couldn't afford the loan in the first place not skin color.
