Seriously... you are trying to argue that the PPR and WP are not anti-Christian and then you make fun on a thread where someone mentions the Bible. *Not* Anti-Christian... yeah right...

You pigeon-hole and stereotype Christians just as much or *more* that they do atheist.
Headphones are good. I usually listen to chill Celtic music or piano music to help me concentrate because they either don't have words or don't have ones you can recognize so I won't be distracted by them. It also depends on what part of the Bible you are trying to read. Romans and Hebrews are going to be difficult no matter what. On the other hand, James is rather straightforward.
I never argued that, that statement you made about this place being anti-Christian. It is complete fact and I never bothered to get into that. I do not want people to be in a land of make believe and this leap of faith stuff when science has completely replaced these myths. My hero is Christopher Hitchens and he would state the same thing if he was talking to you too. I have absolutely no problem criticizing ANY religion, so we are not talking about anti-Christianity here, it is ALL religions for me. I am not going to tell him to f*** off since people are entitled to their opinions, but hopefully I can change them.
You might get mad at me, but I am an honest guy and so is Hitchens. There are numerous other times I have talked to Christians without making these jokes, but when they fly low you have to shoot them. I do not go out of my way to make these statements, this one just came up. I am the one that told him to play Stryper though, just remember that.
The headphones as the best option though. Earplugs even since the headphones might be too heavy. There is no way I can get any work done if I listen to music at the same time.
