The Book of Commandments was the first name for the Doctrine and Covenants, and an old version of it.
It is not a part of official LDS 'cannon'. Cannon is technical a poor word to describe the LDS scriptural texts of the Standard Works (Bible (KJV with the JST & without the Apocrypha), Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, & the Pearl of Great Price) as officially LDS cannon is an open cannon.

I got mine from the community of christ I just listed there with the mormon stuff.
I have also read the white horse prophecy, brigham youngs lecture at the veil,
joe smiths lectures on faith and the salamander letter (forgery)

the parallells between the mormon book of moses and the book of enoch are striking.

I have read the New Testament through several times and maybe half the Old Testament. I have also read several gnostic scriptures most notably The Gospel of Thomas and The Tripartiate Tractate. I am in the process of reading “Imitation of Christ” by Thomas a Kempis and parts of a few mystical books (The Cloud of Unknowing and Holy Wisdom) though I don't know if they should be called scriptures.

the best book that addresses Mormonism is The american religion by harold bloom.
Although I disagree that mormons are Gnostic they are hermetic in my estimation.
gnostics are anti-materialist momos are not.
Jesus and Yaweh would also be of interest to mormons.

I take the Fifth, as I know there this is going & theres no way am going to talk about the details of what gones on in the holy temples cos its sacred not secret.

anyway I have already read the victorian endowment and the one from before the change in the 80's (minor by the way)
as well as the current one. I would not dream of trying to make you break covenants.

also a read a very good book about the endowment and the Ghost Dance.
