A. The Catholic and Orthodox [and once catholic and orthodox which is a neat wordplay some will appreciate] view of Mary does not detract from the gender of the Incarnate nor the role [not gender] ofthe Father.

B. In my understanding, female clergy were not a feature of Protestant versions of Christianity until quite recently. Except for the highly aberrant Quakers and Shakers, and eventually some of the Pentecostals [I think there is a valid connection there] they were, I believe, more male dominated than the early church and the Unreformed, where you at least had deaconesses and various nuns, anchoresses, and beguines.
