As a matter of fact, even rudimentary listening skills should be able to tell any fair-minded person her discussion was ... past tensed, that she was talking about views she had, with a full scoop of rhetorical devies (my first thought, etc) that indicate the transitional nature of these beliefs.
Yes, that is what I had heard. In situations like that, however, many people cannot follow parallel thoughts that do not match.
While, Ms. Sherrod's intent may have been to point out that racism was stupid, the audience members clearly weren't taking it as such. Again, my stance is Ms. Sherrod was wrongly fired, there was racism being demonstrated in the video, but it was not from Ms. Sherrod, it was from the audience.
But that wasn't the perception of the video's viewer. Anyone viewing a video is going to focus on the speaker at the NAACP, and not the audience. And I suspect Breitbart, regardless of what he says after the fact, was intent on painting everyone there with the same brush - speaker and listeners.
And just because some audience members had hooted and hollered when they perceived Sherrod as slamming whites doesn't mean that the whole NAACP organization is racist.

This whole debacle just kind of proves my point that the conservative stereotype lacks empathy. They just can't understand why some older generation blacks who lived through the 50s-60s when open racism and state discrimination against blacks still existed can't just "get over it already". Even worse they think this resentment can be equated with white-on-black racism. The complete dismissal of context is just asinine, but that's just how hyper-judgemental black-and-white thinking conservatives think.
I wouldn't say that people like Breitbart are racists, it's just they do an awfully good job of appearing racist when they harp on the NAACP and such. The NAACP is mostly irrelevant these days anyways so all the fuss just looks a bit askew when viewed from the eyes of anyone who is not a far-right partisan. Really, with their constant whining about reverse racism, it's conservatives who look like they can't just let racial issues go. They are the ones that keep bringing up irrelevant s**t out to be more important than it is in order to stir up s**t and score political points with their base.

Reminds me of how Rush Limbaugh constantly claims that the real racists are people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. So the KKK and Neo-Nazis aren't racists, then? I suspect if Martin Luther King was still alive, Limbaugh would lump him in as a racist, too.

You got the philosophy of Beck, Limbaugh, and Breitbart, and politicians like Ryan, Palin, and Angle down pat. And the scary thing is, millions of people believe this hateful idiocy.

Racism can occur on all sides, it isn't just white people whom can be racists.
As far as fascism while you are attempting to mock me, the truth of the matter is fascism stems from liberalism (big Government controlling everything).
As far as bosses being workers, at what level are you referring to, depending on the company quite often bosses do a lot of work, they have to in order to manage the company.
As much as you mock Conservatives on the destruction of companies, I would point out it is more complex than your sarcastic remarks. Yes Unions can and have destroyed companies my grandfather lost his job before because the union representing him ran the company he worked at out of business. So my family has firsthand experience with Unions destroying businesses.
As far as your other idiotic comments, congratulations you just demonstrated a shining example of liberal tolerance and intellectualism or rather their lack thereof.
Actually, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh would not lump Martin Luther King Jr. as a racist, first of all they would be agreeing with Dr. King that the entire judging people by their skin pigmentation is quite simply stupid. As a matter of fact Glenn Beck had Dr. King's niece at his DC rally.
On the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Dr. Alveda King (Martin Luther King’s niece) and thousands of supporters both black and white came to honor America’s military hero’s in Beck’s “Restoring Honor” event held at the Lincoln memorial in Washington D.C.
The crowd estimated in the hundreds of thousands stretched from the Lincoln Memorial to beyond the World War II Memorial which is more than twice the area covered during Dr. King’s famous speech held at the same location 47 years ago.
The Restoring Honor rally was not meant to be a political event, but rather a tribute to the men and women serving and previously served in America’s military. Beck told the crowd “This is the day we can start the hearts of Americans again, and it has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with God.” Mean while the former Alaska governor, Sarah Palin told the crowd “I’ve been asked to speak as the mother of a soldier and I am proud of that distinction. Say what you want to say about me, but I raised a combat vet and you can’t take that away from me.”
The Restoring Honor rally was also attended by Dr. King Jr.’s niece Dr. Alveda King who prior to attending had previously written: “When I join Beck and all gathered at the Lincoln Memorial this weekend, I will talk about my Uncle Martin and the America he envisioned. I will talk about honor and character and sacrifice. I will be joined by those who represent the diversity of the human race.”

Furthermore, the claims that Rush Limbaugh is racist is kinda ridiculous considering one of his marriages (and I do not condone the fact he's had divorces) was at Justice Clarence Thomas's house and Justice Thomas is the one that officiated the wedding in place of a preacher.

why does the figure sound like ˈfigyər when Rush uses it normally
but when it is used in the sentence "Obama is a important figure in the African american community"
he pronounces it figər ?

I don't deny that. But it is stupid for conservatives talkers to think they can go around attacking the NAACP and calling black people racist without looking like racists themselves. It is a hell of a lot more understandable for older generation blacks who grew up in the 50s and 60s to still be bitter against "whites" (even though they are wrong in feeling this way) than it is for conservative pundits to b***h and moan about reverse racism. The disproportionate bitching and moaning about "liberal reverse racism" makes conservative commentators look racist whether they actually hold racist feelings or not. I'll give Rush or Glenn Beck the benefit of the doubt and say that I don't think they are racist individuals. However, that doesn't stop them from spewing crap that makes the sound like racists.

I quoted what you posted in its entirety, I was referring to you calling Clarence Thomas an Uncle Tom, which is a racist comment.
I will let James Weldon Johnson give my reply

I have yet to see big liberal government lead to fascism - look at the Scandinavian countries, or any country in recent western Europe. And no, the Wiemar Republic of post WWI doesn't count, as the original socialist government had gradually given way to a more reactionary state, even prior to the arrival of Hitler. So, if anything, history proves right wing governments are more likely to evolve into fascism.
As for unions destroying companies - - I'm sure that sort of thing has happened before. But unions are more likely to ensure higher wages and job protection - things companies even admit they're antagonistic toward.
As for Beck and company honoring King with his rally - I think Beck was more interested in cashing in on the symbolism than in honoring the spirit of Dr. King, as Beck has stated time ans again that he opposes any sort of social justice, which king himself had championed. As for Limbaugh getting married by Clarence Thomas - well, he was looking more at the publicity he could gain by making use of a black supreme court judge than anything else.
