Is Rick Perry as Christian as He Thinks He Is?
I think it's in pretty poor taste for a sitting governor to use his office to promote his religion.
Is he passing laws to discriminate against other religions?
If this were a Governor that happened to be gay, and was speaking about his/her homosexuality, would you be singing the same tune?
So you're saying that Governor Perry is a closeted fudge-packer?
Wait? Was this even a question?
There is a question mark at the end of the statement. That makes it a question.
I just mean that there is no sense in asking about something that is obvious.

Good point!

I'm not accusing either one of them of being gay, but i will say that rick perry is maybe half as gay as marcus bachmann.
Of course he can. He's a Republican.
And he is quite devout indeed.
Someone with a semi-reasonable chance of being the next President of the United States. Also a lunatic.

You guys/girls are just plain pathetic, seriously you can't come up with anything legitimate so you call someone a homosexual, you bash him because he happens to be religious, etc. You should be ashamed of yourselves, but somehow I think you think what you're doing is okay because your target is a conservative.
You are shining examples of why many Conservatives, have very little if any respect for most liberals.

Hey you're the one who brought it up. Why are you so obsessed with homosexuals?
Why didn't you ask if it would be appropriate for an atheist politician to throw an anti-prayer meeting? Why did you have to go for the gay angle right from the getgo?
Insecure about something, perhaps?

No, I asked you if you would be making the same statements, complaining about someone advocating something that you seem to support, instead of a religion that you seem to harbor an intense dislike of.
Translation: I was asking if you were being a tad hypocritical.
It was your liberal friends that started running around calling Governor Perry gay, all I asked was a question about hypocracy.

Now you went and made me look him up. I hate looking up info on politicians.
Not sure why you say he has a semi-reasonable chance of being elected. From all I hear, there are lots [maybe not dozens] of potential Republican candidates; my betting is no way does a Texan get nominated, and my betting is no way will the powers let a Republican win. If I were a betting man, I would put my money on Obama - my reasons for believing he will be reelected are cynical and I will spare us all.
But, that said: I notice that repeatedly anybody being talked about as a Republican candidate [and some who are not running but talking] gets labelled a lunatic. Is running as a Republican officially grounds for commitment, is it that you have to be crazy to think you can win as a Republican, is it party talk or are there actually reasons to see these people's values and behavior not as merely different but as sick? The sketch of brother Perry's life and hard times did not show me anything significantly crazier than a similar outline of Obama's career.
Lots, yes, but almost all of them are irrelevant nobodies. Paul, Santorum, Pawlenty, Cain, and Huntsman will be out of the race soon enough.
Why not a Texan? The GOP enjoys the faux-cowboy image. And as to a Republican winning, I may have to make you look up info on politicians again- go and check Obama's latest approval ratings.
There are sane Republicans. The current political climate does not favor them to become highly prominent politicians. Huntsman and Romney are both sane, though few people would have any faith in Romney's sincerity. In regards to Perry, I will assume that you are not familiar with much of his record if you are wondering why I question his sanity.

Well, it's certainly looks like Perry's entry will provide quite a bit of entertainment.

Rick Perry and Bachmann are both nuts and they will never get the vote. Christian conservatives are afraid of Rommney's Mormon beliefs and if they ever understood Romenycare they would divorce him from the GOP because it is vitirually identical to Obamacare, but his healthcare plan covers abortion.
If the GOP had any brains at all (obviously they don't) they would nominate Obama because he has been the best conservative that the US has seen in 30 years. Personally I'd trade Obama to the GOP and then try to convince Nader, Sanders or Kucinich to run as a Democrat.

You do seem quite insecure and sensitive about having introduced the issue of Rick Perry's alleged homosexuality.
You have been quite frank about your lack of interest in the female of our species.
We do perceive homosexual ideations percolating quite frequently from your subconscious into discussions covering topics such as Rick Perry's religious views.
You may consider yourself to be morally superior, and without sin, by keeping your feelings repressed and not seeking to act upon your orientation.
Still, the ideations keep emerging, don't they?
Why not a Texan? The GOP enjoys the faux-cowboy image. And as to a Republican winning, I may have to make you look up info on politicians again- go and check Obama's latest approval ratings.
Everybody loves a Texan - look at Johnson. But - again, merely my largely guesswork - there is too much AntiBush and AntiTexas still in the air for me to believe the party bosses would risk it. Not that I have any real insight into the political mind.
I am well aware of Obama's approval rating - my opinion of him may be higher than most because he has not totally ditched the one positive trait I ever saw in him [close, though]. But he is large and visible - and ditching him would make the party and country look like they made a mistake [compare UCLA linguistics in a similar case according to my sources]. So, I bet as I bet, and none of it is up to me.
No, I am not familiar with his record, nor anyone else's - I do not follow pols. What quick web check turns up looks from here like political business as usual - me, I question the sanity AND / OR the intentions of everybody in politics. Perry is apparently on term 3.5, which suggests that if like Napoleon he has mental issues he is crazy like a fox.
One specifically insane act?
