You do realize Texas is the state in the best economic shape in the entire US.

They have the largest number of minimum wage jobs in the country, and as well as a reduction in health benefits. That so-called Texas prosperity is misleading, considering the level of collective poverty and denial of access to healthcare in the state.

And despite their rate of job creation, unemployment in TX is up a whole point since 2009.

Oh don't worry, Perry has little chance. He has made powerful enemies for himself- virtually the entire former Bush administration is opposed to him. It is unwise to cross Karl Rove.

Being that it was Rove who got him started in Republican politics (this guy Perry was believe it or not once a Democrat!), I think it's saying a lot that Turd Blossom now has it out for him.

not exactly true but they are bolstered by a lot of illegal labor and that helps out.

That statement would work if California wasn't having the equivalent of an economic implosion.

Well it would prolly mean that Californias economic woes do not have Mexicans at the root.
But spending without collecting enough revenue would be my guess.

That would put alien invaders and their spawn pretty close to the root of the economic implosion.

They are showing a profit. The bottom line is the only thing that counts.

It's just that - a show. Current estimates on Texas' budget gap is between $15 and $27 billion over the next two years.

http://kutnews.org/post/estimated-texas ... 27-billion

If the high estimate is true, than Texas' budget gap is bigger than California's and New York's combined. Perry's just been kicking the can down the road.

I don't think that's much comfort to the people of Texas, who are apparently just barely getting by, and have to go without medical care.

That beats not getting by at all. And in Texas the law says that one going to an Emergency Room must be treated. So if one is sick enough to be on Death's Doorway one will be treated.

I'd much prefer being able to go to the doctor before my bowels are about to explode, and I'm growing blisters on my testicles!

Well it was a good thing that ancient Israel had socialized medicine and universal access to health care but wait a minute that can't be true because that would have meant they endorsed evil socialism . People in Israel must have gone to Witch Doctors for their medical care and not those socialist Levitical Priests who were so dependent on government tithes and taxes.

Most people do not believe me because in modern times Priests do not have a monopoly over medicine like they did in ancient days. Today most Priests and Preachers like Rick Perry are more interested in becoming politicians so that they can be in a position of power to deny rather than provide universal healthcare. Thankfully in Ancient Israel Priests were forbidden to become politicians and vice versa. One ancient King in Israel started to burn incense in the temple and was struck down with leprosy.

Such accounting tricks are common among Republicans. Pawlenty did the same thing, and now Minnesota is a mess because of it.

Here's something interesting:

Quote:
Burnt Orange Report, a site founded by a Democratic activist, reported in 2006 that Perry's 1995 financial disclosure showed he owned between $5,000 and $10,000 in stock in the company Movie Gallery. He was at the time state commissioner of agriculture.

Why is that significant? Because the now-defunct Movie Gallery, once a competitor to Blockbuster, was known for offering XXX porn rentals along with conventional Hollywood fare.

Was he a majority shareholder, I'm guessing he wasn't. Furthermore, was he the one handling his stocks or was a stock broker handling his portfolio...
