Obama decides to grant blanket amnesty

That's not blanket amnesty. One, it's on a case by case basis for those who fit a certain criteria and two, they're just canceling deportation proceedings right now to prioritize the deportation of criminals so I wouldn't exactly call it amnesty as in they could just deport them later.
Yeah, sure. They'll just deport them later.

What Reagan did in 86 with an act of congress was "blanket amnesty", not this.
Actually, I do remember that. It was also supposed to be some sort of line drawn in the sand, and that henceforth enforcement of existing laws would become much, much stricter regarding anyone who entered the country illegally. Care to defend that part?
And if you should ever want to read a truly breath-taking speech of lie piled upon lie, dig up the oration Ted Kennedy made with the mess Congress passed in 1967. Absolutely nothing he claimed occurred as he said it would, even in the immediate aftermath of the law's passage. And, in reality, all US immigration policy since that time has been little more than a footnote to the '67 act, including the '86 dog and pony show. Which was utter pig excrement in its reasoning and in its later implementation.
But for some weird reason certain politicians -- including quite a few with (R) as their party designation -- seem hellbent on recreating Yugoslavia within US borders. Completely mystifying.
Though perhaps the most mysterious thing of all to me is how behavior of this sort could possibly come from an African-American president. viz:

Gauging the Gangs - A respected writer spent five years studying the Mexican Mafia. What he discovered will shock even the most seasoned cop. (LINK)
One heart-arresting fact the streetwise investigator recently uncovered is that Mexican Mafia leaders have declared a "green light" on African Americans found in neighborhoods claimed by the powerful prison-based gang. This means that members of Latino street gangs affiliated with the La Eme are under orders to harass, assault, and even murder African-Americans, who Mexican Mafia leaders view as sub-human.
The reason for this, Rafael has found, is that a longstanding prison gang war between the Mexican Mafia and the African-American prison gang, Black Guerilla Family, has led to a deep racial loathing between the gangs that has spilled over into the streets of Los Angeles County.

Mexican gang targets blacks in Los Angeles (LINK)
To demonstrate its loyalty to the notoriously violent Mexican Mafia prison gang, an affiliate Latino street organization has worked to cleanse a southern California city of black residents by terrorizing, threatening and intimidating them, according to a Washington, DC-based legal watchdog group.
Details of the decades-long genocide operation in the Los Angeles County city of Azusa are laid out in a huge grand jury indictment issued by the Department of Justice on June 3. More than 50 Latino gang bangers, many of them in the U.S. illegally, have been charged for targeting blacks by beating, robbing and threatening them, according to Judicial Watch.
The goal was to drive blacks out of the predominantly working-class Latino city of about 46,000. The crimes were committed by members of the Azusa 13 gang, which runs a sophisticated criminal enterprise financed with lucrative drug-trafficking proceeds.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ascending the steep steps that lead from the street to the scene of her son's murder, 47-year-old Louisa Prudhomme is charged by a Doberman Pinscher.
Prudhomme reaches over a gate and gives the guard dog a rough pat on the head.
"Sam doesn't seem to remember me," she says.
What Prudhomme will never forget is that just past the snarling Doberman is the apartment on a hill where six years ago her 21-year-old son Anthony was shot in the face with a .25-caliber semi-automatic while lying on a futon she had purchased for him from IKEA. He died wearing a shirt that read, "Keep the Peace."
Anthony Prudhomme was slain by members of the Avenues, a Latino street gang. But he was not a rival gang member, or a police informant, or a drug dealer. The Avenues did not target him for the content of his character, or even the contents of his apartment.
They targeted him for the color of his skin.

But with brilliant minds like Jacoby on the case, spearheading the Rainbow Coalition, all parties will doubtless join hands and sing a rousing chorus of Kumbaya before sunset.
Though I suppose the above gives Obama an out the next time anyone tries to pin the ol' Jeremiah Wright meme on him: After all, he can hardly be accused of favoring African-Americans when the actions of his Justice Department do nothing to slow down the open season declared upon said group a decade or so ago, right?

I've heard the Moonie Paper a/k/a The Washington Times described in many different ways, but I think this is the first time I've ever actually heard it called a "liberal rag."

Considering they did not present any statement from the critics of what the Obama administration is doing, it's kinda obvious that they have a left wing bias, further newspapers were often called a rag in the past. Thus I'm calling the Washington Times a liberal rag.

The move, announced in letters to Congress, won immediate praise from Hispanic activists and Democrats who had chided President Obama for months for the pace of deportations and had argued he had authority to exempt broad swaths of illegal immigrants from deportation.

Personally, I think this is grounds for Impeachment.

1) This is not "blanket amnesty," just slowing down the rate of deportation.
2) Ronald Reagan did grant blanket amnesty for over 3 million illegal immigrants.
3) Obama has been tougher on illegal immigration than any other President. He has presided over record deportation rates.

Last I looked he has had those record rates in spite of his actions, he's been trying to shut down deportations for a while, primarily because he wants the illegal immigrant vote, like the votes from the undead. He's been trying to shut down the crackdown on illegal immigration, he hasn't been trying to enforce the law.
If you honestly think I'm dumb enough to believe that this is just a slowing down, you're crazy. There is plenty of evidence to suggest otherwise, and it doesn't take an Einstein to connect the dots.

Uh huh, sure... Obama has been fighting tooth and nail against deportations, and yet people in his employ are still deporting way more illegals than Bush ever dreamed of.

Illegal immigrants don't vote.

Yawn. If the goal was actually voter fraud, it would be cheaper to just rig the voting machines, rather than try registering a bunch of Mexicans.

Read the exact terms of the War Powers Resolution of 1973. Short answer: Nope. Not severe enough of a breach to bother with impeachment.

Probably cause the states have been dropping these people on the ICE's doorsteps, not because he's been championing any reforms.

Legally they aren't allowed, however that doesn't mean there aren't illegal immigrants that do vote. Hell we apparently have the undead rising from the grave in Chicago voting.

While that is the case, they are also more likely to get caught if they rigged the voting machines. While if it is a bunch of illegal's voting they could claim they had no idea these people were here illegally.

Hasn't ACORN been convicted in some states of Voter Registration fraud, it isn't that much of a stretch to use fraudulent registrations, to produce fraudulent votes.
I'm not saying all illegal immigrants vote, I'm saying that there is a percentage of them that do, and like it or not if only 10% of them voted illegally, it could throw a close election.

It's bizarre that people seem to think Mexicans just walk into polling locations and vote without being asked to show identification. I am a native-born American and white as they come, and in 2008 I needed my original Social Security card and birth certificate with me at the polling place before they would let me vote. Now, granted, they didn't ask for my long-form birth certificate, but given the hoops I had to jump through I have to suspect the rate of successful voter fraud is relatively low.

10% is a BS made-up number. No way is it anywhere near that high. The last presidential election was not close. And the Hispanic community, if you haven't been paying attention, is not supportive of Obama. They disapprove of his constant deportations, and the predominantly Catholic demographic isn't exactly going to be thrilled with a pro-choice candidate either.

Yeah I'm well aware about the ID law. I'm also aware the Democrats and leftist groups sued to try to have that law thrown out.

Obama did not declare war on Libya. He did send troops overseas without congressional approval. So, yeah, he violated the War Powers Resolution Act of 1973. But do did George Bush II and Clinton. They didn't get impeached.
On the subject of blanket amnesty, if they crossed the border illegally they should be deported.
My ancestors were dirt poor, of Irish descent ,and were in the middle of Protestant-Catholic wars/potato famine yet they still came here to the states legally. What are the Chicano's excuse besides a feeling on entitlement that the land is "theirs"?
