People don't realize that water filtration tech for public water DOES NOT remove many, many chemicals passed on in waste such as medications including anti-pregnancy pills. It's messing with the hormone balances of both men and women in the USA and other westernized nations.

The government doesn't need to put stuff in the water to screw you an a daily basis.

I bet Octo-Mom thinks she is making up for all those babies aborted so that is why she is entitled.

What I find repugnant about the abortion issue in law is how it's all about the WOMAN's choice. The father has no say about if an abortion should or should not be performed. He can't compel the mother to give birth

Why the hell should he have that right? It's her health, her body at risk when she goes through pregnancy, her who could end up with incontinence and other issues, why the f**k should he get to decide that someone else must go through a serious medical condition so he can have the baby he wants?

Because pregnancy is not about the woman. It's about both the father and mother. A woman's right to her body terminates when she willfully gives herself to a man and it results in becoming pregnant. What is inside of her is 50% the man's DNA. If brought to term, the law will compel the man to support that child for the next 18 years. Still, the man gets no say in anything, it's all reserved to the woman. That's an utterly one-sided view of the issue, and the law is not supposed to be lopsided as such.

That the woman must bear 9 months of pregnancy is a ludicrous argument when the man is going to be forced to support her choice no matter what it is. Both sides are equally invested.

Now, if the woman refuses to ID the father or does not know, I can see the argument swinging on that, but by leaving him utterly out of the process, he won't be held accountable for any choices made. However, when the father is brought in, he should have his rights represented.

The consequences are not, in fact, equal for the mother.

Sorry, being sad or hurt because you wanted a child is not the same as being forced through 9 months of pregnancy. Why should she have her entire body, her health, her endocrine system affected because of HIS WANTS?

You want a child? Go find a woman who knows for sure she wants to have a baby.

Ah, so.

Yes, Virginia, there IS a "market driven" solution for the abortion question in two easy steps:

A. save sex for marriage

B. marry the right person

Why did we never think of that?

That would be abused by women who don't want children, anyway. For instance, I would be tempted to go on welfare just to get the cash and the bonus of not having to take hormonal contraceptives any more. You'd get lots of middle-class childfree women quitting their jobs!

That sentence disturbs me. Do you really think a woman terminates the right to her body by having consensual sex (and accidentally getting pregnant)?

Do you really think women 'give' you their body during sex? Funny, men don't ever seem to have their bodily rights terminated. My body always belongs to me even when I'm shagging, thankyouverymuch. It would still belong to me if, heaven forbid, I ever got pregnant.

I forgot I changed your classification from political nut to conspiracy crackpot the other day. Thank you for reminding me of that.

But doesn't that have the sinister ring of eugenics to it?

Are you interested in a solution, or not? Being sentimental is not useful in solving difficult problems.

There are solutions, then there are solutions. Those solutions that treat a group of people as less than human is closer to a final solution, which is what you're doing if you want to fix people as if they were pets.

You forgot:

C. Stop having sex with your spouse as soon as you reach the number of children you are both satisfied with (for most couples, this occurs within about 5 years).

You would rather take care of their unwanted and unnecessary children?

Irrelevant. Hitler was human too. So what?
