Ron Paul's gold standard stance pegs him as either a moron who is bad at math or a clever manipulator who likes to take advantage of people who are bad at math.

That's just scary. This time last year I really didn't think anyone would take her seriously. I thought she'd be a repeat of Christine O'Donnell. All I can say is, WTF. Has it really come to this?

The good news is that she is likely to alienate moderates, and the tea party can't get enough electoral votes.

Bachmann really has no shot. Orwell is mistaken if he thinks she is gaining momentum. She's been fading in the polls and a good portion of her supporters are going to Rick Perry. The only state she'd be competitive in would be Iowa, the state she was born in. I think Sarah Palin is a more threatening candidate than Michelle Bachmann if you want the truth.

They build him up to shoot him down

he has no perceived traction if he has no podium, but the media will give him one because when this straw-man they are constructing crashes, it won't only be his downfall but the perceived downfall of the GOP as well.

My bets are that Romney will win both Paul's and Perry's state. As he will most states...

Rick Perry will become the next President because he will abolish the income tax and voters don't like to pay income tax.

You were just saying that Bachmann and Paul are polling similarly. So Bachmann has no chance but Paul does? I think you are letting wishful thinking cloud your objectivity here.

Those same voters will also be looking to receive their social security checks.

And a President cannot abolish the income tax. Only Congress can.

Social Security is paid out of a seperate payroll deduction. Voters don't like paying income taxes and all that matters is that they think the President has the power to abolish it.

... just like many thought that Mr. Obama would put everyone to work, end discrimination, and bring our troops back from the Middle East in 2008.

Common, only this measly handful of threads on republican hopefuls? I'm not saying we have a deep bench - yet, but, I'm just saying - so many wells to poison and so little time to do it. Chop chop! Time's a wastin!

But he doesn't. Shame on the Voters for being ignorant of their own Constitution.

Perry lives with his foot in his mouth. It's very hard to see him (or Bachmann) holding the middle. They live and breathe the crazy juice.

If Palin shows up, as Rove expects, then it's a three way shoot-out between the crazies. They'll split the anti-Romney vote betweem them and Mitt will walk away with it.
