I think I have stated this before, but Jesus, if you boil away all the religious crap, was one of the first hippies/peaceful political activists, and probably one of the more well documented. It was his disciples that turned it into a religion per se.
i agree with you. in typical fasion people **** up everything though (as usual)

(Off-topic: The title comes from the title of a song by Pillar.)

About the personal attacks, you aren't supposed to give attacks to any other group. There are Catholic people who frequent this forum and it's really not cool to show blatant disrespect to them.

A better way to rephrase what you believe is something like The idea of purgatory is false because____ and then fill in the blank. Basic rule of thumb: attack the ideology or the ideas but NOT the people.

Hey mods, could you keep an eye on this thread to make sure it doesn't get too out of hand?

But there was no catholics in this thread, so what you are saying makes no sence. im not attacking anyone. do you tiptoe through life brah? whats your major malfunction? do you believe in purgatori???? you can't call something a "personal attack" if the comments i made weren't attacking anyone. and to just throw something out there like well, 'you might offend someone' who broweses these forums is really dumb, thats like trying to hit an airplane with a rock. understand now?

For your personal information, a copy of the rules at WP can be found here. There is a comment specifically relating to staying away from making insinuating remarks about groups of people.

If you have a problem with it, take your problem up with one of the mods or admins here. They will be able to answer any of your questions more directly than I can.

yeah if your making a personal attack on someone it says that.

Personal Attacks:
2. "this includes insinuation, ridicule and personal insults regardless of whether direct or indirect.
attacking an opinion, belief of philosophy is acceptable. but attacking the person is not"

hmm. kindof goes back to what i've been saying all along. wich is i wasn't attacking anyone. the bolded in areas is what i have been doing. you're the only one with the problem here, and it's more than likely why you aren't a moderator anymore. cuz you don't know how to interpet the rules.

Werbert enjoys committing all seven deadly sins.

When I woke up this morning, I really didn't want to get out of bed, or move at all. But I had eaten five turkey legs since waking up and needed more food. I forced myself to reach over and ring my bell which summoned my maid. I wanted to tell her that I needed more pies, but instead, I had my way with her for the next seven hours. By that time, the poor girl was probably pregnant, so I complimented my own virility and ordered her to get out of my bed. She refused, saying she thought she loved me. I smacked her upside the head and fired her. After that, I got out of bed and went out, without getting dressed, of course. While walking down the street, I saw a bum with a shiny new bottle of Jack Daniel's whiskey, so I beat the crap out of him and took the bottle, along with his coat and some cigar butts he had on him. I can't stand it when someone else has something I want.

I am hoping you're joking. Not about you committing the 7 deadly sins, but rather the method you committed them...

f**k, sorry. I didn't know. I wasn't poking fun at the Holocaust, I was poking fun at the Nazis. Do you get offended by the Nazis in the "Deadliest Joke" Monty Python sketch?

It is hard to think of all those lives extinguished, isn't it? People with money, family, had lovers, problems. All extinguished. It's like Stalin said: a single death is a tragedy. A million is a statistic. You cannot wrap your head around the number of lives lost. The bodies, you can picture. The lives, you cannot.

On a tenuous note back to the main discussion, Thea von Harbou (a Nazi supporter) and Fritz Lang (who fled Germany after hearing Hitler wanted him to make movies) made a movie that had the 7 Deadly Sins in it. Two guesses, and it starts with "M"....
