I would cite Dante's "Divine Comedy", but that would stop the thread, whether in Latin or Old Italian.

I vote that Hitler's soul be "blotted" out of existence, simply because the notion of Hell has never made any real sense to me, and has always seemed to be nothing more than a scare tactic to inspire fealty to God. Why waste resources as a God by contributing a vast portion of your divine power to what essentially amounts to a giant furnace in the midst of space? :?

Stupid God; you're doing it wrong!

No, I think nobody deserves eternal punishment. Like it or not, he's as much part of mankind as you and me are. But I'm German, so am I allowed to say this? I mean yeah, if I had the chance to kill a mass murderer without having to fear legal persecution, I would absolutely kill him. But if we proclaim human rights, no one should be excluded in my opinion. Even an almost surreal nutjob like Hitler.

Always found it kind of disturbing that all the supervillains in human history once looked like this
Image...

Just like everyone else. And there are always issues like free will, personal biography, mental disorders and so on.
I mean Hitler wanted to become an artist, but his application to an academy of arts was rejected. So many ifs. Would he have enlisted to the arme if he had been accepted?

I remember there was somewhat of a controversy in Germany when Hitler was portrayed quite human in the movie The Downfall. He was shown battling with Parkinson's as a vegetarian petting his dog between scenes of Berlin being destroyed and nazi-officials killing their kids to spare them a life without Nacional Socialism Some people didn't like that.
But I think it's even more disturbing if you look at lunatics like him being human just like us instead of turning them into some kind of surreal monsters. Many movies got that wrong. Even the most insane people in history were born as human beings and died just like we will one day.

Mormon hell is eternal isolation.

But as an atheist i'm content for his brainwave to have gone flat forever.

Where ever Hitler is now is in God's hands, but I have a suspicion that he's not happy where he's at.

Adolf Hitler was suspected to be autistic ( Michael Fitzgerald and Andreas Fries ), he didn't plan the genocide , his companions did. Read it in history..

Here's some supporting evidence :
I saw an interesting documentary film about the subject.

Quote:
Basically it said that Hitler had a lot of Jewish friends back when he was still living in Vienna in around the year 1900. Also the people who bought his paintings were mostly Jews. There has been no record that Hitler would have said anything bad about the Jews during this time.

It has been shown true (from letters that Hitler wrote) that he had somewhat of a boyish crush on a rich, Jewish woman when he was living in Vienna.

During the world war, Hitler fought with several Jews who most certainly were not any less cowards than Hitler were; actually it seems that Hitler was a bit ashamed of the fact that he was "just" a bike messenger instead of being a front-line fighter (even though his job was dangerous, too). But there is no record that he would have said anything bad about the Jews during this time, either.

In 1919 he joined the politics. Now it needs to be remembered what a great loss Germany had suffered in WW1; the people were looking for someone to blame for it, and those who were blamed were communists and jews. It must be pointed out that blaming them was not Hitler's idea; blaming jews and communists was something you simply had to do if you wanted to succeed politically.

Many researchers believe (and I agree with them) that Hitler did not hate Jews until he joined the politics in 1919, when he had to start hating them because it was the "popular" thing to do and he needed votes. But, he was a crazy, pathological liar who by 1932 had started to believe that jews really were evil.

Wether this theory is true or not, it needs to remembered that Hitler wasn't really giving any anti-Jewish lectures to anyone until in 1919. There has been many letters that he has wrote to friends/family/whoever, and they do not show any anti-Jewish thoughts (according to that documentary film I saw). In that sense, it seems to me that he hasn't hated Jews for all his life.

I've also heard that Hitler's Antisemitism may have developed only later in life. But that doesn't mean that he wasn't behind the Holocaust; just that he had a lot of co conspirators.
