Also, beating someone over the head with the americans with disabilities act because you don't like what they did is sort of a liberal move, wouldn't you say? Big government and all that?

Why didn't you argue on the merits of your work instead of asking big mommy government to protect you?

Really the people that discriminated against me have all happened to be liberals and some of them even ran for political office as Democrats.

Okay volunteering at a public library for years, tried to turn it into a part-time job and they then turned around and said I was, "too high-maintainence and asked too many questions."

An instructor, freshman year (high school) biology told me he gave me a 0 on an exam, because I used a word processor instead of writing things out by hand (the word processor had absolutely no memory and required disks to save things to). It took the Assistant Principle writing the guy a letter saying that his behavior was unacceptable and in violation of the Americans with Disability Act, in order for the guy to regrade the test. Then he (the instructor) claimed he was joking...

So would you like to take back what you said?


I don't see why he should.

People can hire or not hire whoever they want, right?

And you had one a**hole teacher.

Not like you established that these people are liberals either, are we supposed to depend on some sort of stereotype to determine their political alignment?


It was a she, and she then told my mother that she hoped this wouldn't affect my love of reading.


In the case of the Instructor, I actually do know he was a liberal because he ran for public office a few years later as a Democrat. I don't think all Democrats are like him, but to claim all Republicans are somehow Racists and all Democrats are tolerant people, is just downright idiotic.

I actually do know some Democrats that I actually think are good people, but I'm kinda turned off to the Democrat party as a whole, after being called a racist bigot, that kinda makes me rather disinclined to vote for Democrats.

So , sometime in your life you must have met someone that was crazy enough to convince you that the discrimination you went through was part of a liberal conspiracy and that you must become Inuyasha to fight it. Instead of you finding out that some people just turn to be dicks and that maybe (just maybe) they didn't care about your political affiliation and they just wanted to mess with you.

It is good to find out that there is something Freudian about the internet monster you have become. Unfortunately, you don't live in reality. You complain all day about liberals blaming all their problems on the rich instead of working their asses off. Yet at the same time, you attribute all your problems to liberals and do really the same but with a different group of people.

Most teachers are liberal compared to the general populous. However, I don't see how being liberal makes a teacher more likely to be inflexible and anal retentive. If anything, being that way fits more with the conservative mentality of telling people to "pull yourself up by your boot straps". I mean, teabagger Sharron Angle used finger quotes when mentioning autism, as if she thinks people now being diagnosed with a high functioning version of autism aren't really disabled.

Running as a Democrat is not a sufficient condition for being a liberal, given that the USA has incoherently "big tent" parties. There's a dense concentration of (at least socially, but often also economically) conservative Democrats throughout the Southern US and other places in the country. The Party establishment, by any reasonable measure, is centre-right and the centre-left is confined to the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Having no problem with someone who produces an ad, aimed at African Americans, that portrays those who didn't go into the army or aren't wealthy as welfare dependent, chronic gambling, adulterers proves, if not outright racism, than at least gross ignorance and racial insensitivity.

there's nothing wrong with the ad...

it'll appeal to many church-going black democrats who are on the fence about the president... which as Maxine Water's trip across the country is making evident... the black vote is still with Obama but signs of frustrations are being vocalized at job fairs and townhalls across the country.

I have dysgraphia which makes prolonged writing painful. I was getting no special treatment in regards to academic standards, I just needed to type out essay questions instead of writing them out by hand.

I have dysgraphia too. My handwriting has been known to make teachers weep. When people see my signature they ask if i am a doctor.

In 1987 my 7th grade english teacher BEGGED me to use a word processor.

So why argue under the ADA instead of arguing that you did the work the same as anyone else in the class? Unless it was a composition class - and honestly those have been extinct since the early 70's - the teacher had no business complaining about the format it was turned in with if the content was the same as they would have received from any other student.

In my highschool career i did have a couple teachers who requested hand written assignments but they soon regretted it and relented. I actually became the guy who lugged around an immense portable computer.

I'd like to thank you, Raptor. Every time I hear Hugh McFadyen repeat a bunch of misleading facts about the NDP government and arrest warrants, or the next time Sam Katz announces another Private-Public Partnership, or the next time Stephen Harper scraps another important inner-city program, I'll have your ultraconservative inanity to put things into perspective. Then I will realize, as much as the New Right is f*cking up Canada at the moment, it could be worse.
