I think for practical reasons the US government is currently the closest thing we have to the Nazis. We've managed to gain a lot of hatred from other countries and we've commited a number of war crimes in the War on Terror which the government still has not taken full responsability for (it's so easy to just blame it on a few supposedly corrupt soldiers isn't it?). Plus what gets me is how so many Americans seem to blindly support our "free" government without questioning anything we do, and many of them show hostility towards those who simply do question the government like democracy supposedly says you're allowed to do. Hell I'm willing to bet I'm going to face hostility after this post alone.

Plus I have a feeling that in several years from now our government is going to attempt genocide on the muslim world and that most of our people are going to support it like the hypocrites they are for telling the Nazis what bad boys they were for wanting to commit genocide on the Jewish. Just because of the fact that so many Americans I talk to view all Muslims as evil animals with no human rights and that many of them think the best way to avenge 9/11 is to drop atomic bombs on the entire Middle East and kill every man, woman, and child who have nothing to do with terrorism. So basically that tells me that despite the way Hollywood movies potray Americans as being compassionate and merciful after World War II, we still haven't learned from our mistake with dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I'll go with one of the "other" choices and say alphabet agencies in general in the US. FBI, ATF, DEA, just put any three letters together and somewhere in their org chart you'll find someone wearing jackboots kicking in doors in the dead of night. I think both houses of Congress deserve an honorable mention as well, expanding the reach of the the men in said boots seems to be the only thing congress can agree on these days.

I should have had the U.S. or U.S. Government as options.
We are the most militarized country in the world by size.
one of the most per capita.

The Corporations Benito Mussolini said it best.

Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power.
Plus the Soviets where just as evil who are the new Soviets?

Who are the new Nazis?

"The gaze of the neocons, like that of America's perennially autistic ruling classes.... ....to demonstrate that neither their imagination nor their actions will be constrained by anyone or anything - not even by the rules and norms they believe are their country's gift to the world".
"The Reactionary Mind: Conservatism from Edmund Burke to Sarah Palin" by Corey Robin (2011), page 194.

With "The Grapes of Wrath" being the role-model for today's Joads taking the blame for their own actions resulting in their long vacation trip to peach-picking employment delights, with plenty of opportunities to eat twice as much as they need from America's garbage, adding the laissez-faire Capitalist-Pigs subduing the Social Contract into worthless Binding Arbitration, "Let Them Eat Cake" sounds like a flame retardant.

Ooh, I don't know if the "Nazi" label really works, but I think Fred Phelps and the WBC are quickly climbing the charts in the universally despised category. I shudder to think of rebellious youth of the future becoming Neo-Phelps, although I suppose I will need a few laughs in my old age.

Does not count Phelps is powerless the Nazis are all about power.

Although Phelps has a lot in common with Neo-nazis
Powerless folks that use transgressive rhetoric to compensate for their weakness.

Hence my qualifier. It just occurred to me when trying to think of someone everyone can hate, like Hitler lite™.

I think Phelps fulfills that role (without actually being a threat to anyone)
Didn't the KKK counter protest them.
