Prof's "Death to Israel!" shout mildly criticized
Also, this guy's a professor, not a politician. He doesn't have to appeal to fox news, you, or anyone else.

Yours I assume because name calling is not appropriate.

The more abhorred a speech is the more reason free speech is need.
Should yelling hate speech whilst attending someone else's presentation get you fired from college? I wouldn't rush to say yes. If the guy is shouting "Death to Israel" whilst wearing a Hitler mustache and holding an autographed Mel Gibson picture it is easy. But as a general rule, HATE SPEECH is protected speech for a reason.
What if he was saying that "Occupiers are ret*ds that deserve to be unemployed". That is also a form of hate speech and not an idea. Should he be fired in that situation?
What if some of the other professors in this college called this guy a "stupid hatred-imbued idiot bigot who is possibly disturbed" . Should he be fired in that situation?

He was not putting forth an idea, any more than I would be putting forth an idea if I shouted "die n-word!" in the same circumstances. And yes, a prof would be fired if he did so. It's all political correctness, not the high-minded b.s. you pretend it to be. And before you say the example isn't equivalent, there would be no black people in the room at the time, so it couldn't be considered a credible threat. (And, obviously, I would NEVER do such a thing -- it is abhorrent, as this "intellectual" must have realized about his exclamation.)
Also, why do you say "this guy's a professor", and then go on to make the assertion that, therefore, he's above everyone? I think you know what I think about that. He's a turd, that's all.
"Death to Israel" is not an "idea", it's hate. And it's quite politically correct hate, not "radical" as you suppose. (Ever hear of the Holocaust? I was very popular at one time, and many people miss it to this day. That's reality.) Do you not know how to recognize hate? Maybe you don't. Ah, well, maybe you'll experience it in a very damaging way one day, and then you'll have a clue what most people suffer. Until then, keep on praising the virtues of "academic" idiocy.
Any religious fanatic who makes the suggestion that Human Rights should be
sacrificed to satisfy the lust the fanatic holds themselves as entitled to for
representing their fanatical God's rights is that which is ABHORRENT.

Beelzebub is looking forward to introducing again "The Divine Comedy" of Dante.
Virgil is currently occupied, but Jerry Falwell is hungry for any sign of the fresh
flesh of Life.

Did you know the origins of Halloween come from the pagan dietiy samhain.

I think I remember reading about some pagan diety with the Celts/Druids involving Halloween for the first time back in 1968 when a biology high school teacher forced her students to read publications involving Garner Ted Armstrong and the WWCG. I had to write a report on "EVOLUTION: A Whale of A Tale" against Evolution. Other booklets cited the Duck-Billed Platypus as evidence against evolution, but to me, it looked like a good example to support evolution. The WWCG shunned most holidays to the preference of modified and renamed Jewish based holy-days. The family wasn't close to the WWCG until the late 1970's. All of my encounters with religions have ended badly, mainly because of prejudices with moderately rare physical impairments I have, and/or bizarre church official's conduct.

They say, "Don't fee the trolls." Well, I unwittingly brought too much troll food into this thread. I had had a tough week, and my estimation of the general maturity level of my audience was off (which equals troll food). I apologize to the other serious-minded individuals (few though there are) in this thread -- people who understand that advocating another Holocaust deserves criticism, not defense. Ruveyn put it best, that the issue is not, of course, whether free speech exists in this country, but rather a much more local issue regarding the use of a private auditorium to say things which the owner of that auditorium does not have to allow. And my position (and perhaps his as well) is that the owner of the auditorium should not have allowed -- without swift and severe punishment to follow -- such hateful and clearly-inflammatory speech which does nothing to advance debate or promote any real thought. Also, of course, hatred against the Jews is not "an idea which I do not like", as someone alleged. It is an idea that God does not like, and therefore it is wrong. This can be debated among fools, but that changes nothing.
WTF
This is a great argument inside your head but in a secular context
we do not care what you think G'd likes or does not like.
We care about what the constitution defends.

All hail Ragtime, he speaks for Allah! Should I bow 5 times/day to you, oh enlightened one?
Lets just forget that Ragtime was the one who started name calling in this thread, and also decided that regular members who disagree with him (or in my case, agree with another poster...) are "trolls". High five buddy!
