So far, all I see is a bland accusation, unsubstantiated by the accuser.

He has issued an order relieving college students of repaying their loans. That was MY money the government used to put this people through school. I want the principle repaid with interest. The students signed a legal contract to repay principle with interest and King Obama has nullified the contract they signed (to their benefit). Does he have the legal right and power to deny the tax payers that their money be returned? What he did was, at the very least, legally questionable. Does the U.S. Constitution grant the power to the POTUS to forgive loans? the POTUS can pardon, but can he forgive loans?

Consider it a pardon for the crime of not paying loans. Thanks for finally explaining what the heck you were talking about.

I smelled BS.

Going to law school does not = scholar.

Being a professor does not = scholar.

Err, yes it does...

Being a professor who does extensive research, is published in multiple law reviews, conducts years of constitution-based workshops, seminars and lectures on various aspects of constitutional law = scholar.

So, normally when someone claims to be a "constitutional law scholar," they will either....

1. Be a strict adherent to the plain meaning and intentions of the Constitution.

2. Be extremely clever in finding way to justify going around the plain limitations imposed by the Constitution.

I figured Obama to be the later, and I am not surprised as how things have turned out.

Much of the application of law is common sense. The lawyers who can debate on end over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin are reserved for cases and clients who want to find inventive ways to justify getting around the clear prohibitions of the law.

And yet you conservatives bitched and moaned when Bush Jr.'s IQ and academic record was criticized. The only difference here is, Obama actually has the achievements to back up his record.

I agree. What about a sex change for Herman Cain?

I doubt that a sex change operation is going to make him any more sane.
But who know, maybe he could work that into a TV add with that cigarette smoking guy with the "I am America" music in the background.

I didn't. I am anti-Bush and I am anti-Obama.

I loved watching Cain's buddy blowing smoke in everyone's face. I find such chutzpah refreshing.

What we now need is "in your face" government. That will wake up the voters!

As someone with too much student debt, I wish that this were true. The plan that I heard described will allow students to consolidate multiple loans into one place and will cap their monthly payments at 10% of their income for a maximum of 20 years. For most people, that's not 'forgiving' any of their loan at all.

LKL has the right of it - it's not "forgiving" the loan at all, it's merely making it more possible for the loans to be paid back (rather than, say, defaulted upon).

Any more? Or is that your "evidence" that the Presidency has become Imperial? Because if that's the best you've got, there's a lot more evidence that Bush wanted to be King (executive orders saying under what circumstances such treaties as the Geneva Conventions don't apply, for instance, or executive orders permitting violation of the Fourth Amendment rights of people who might seem "suspicious").

Giving Cain a sex change might be beneficial - he might, for instance, begin to see the contradiction between his statement that it's okay for his chief of staff to smoke because it's legal, and a free choice, and his statement that there are absolutely no circumstances under which abortion should be permissible (even when the mother's life is at stake).

Something that I have found deeply disturbing by this administration is the drone-assasination of American citizens in Yemen, including a teenage boy, on nothing but the President's say-so. I recognize the practicality of it, and I think that the targets of these strikes probably have significant evidence against them, but the legal precedent it sets is very, very bad.

You know, I recall Rush Limbaugh sputtering this same crap of Obama ruling by decree almost from the very beginning.

Libya? Bradley Manning? Secret death warrants? Pick a questionable decree, there are plenty to go around.

Do you call the last 10.5 years sanity?
