Or ive never heard of them.

There are successfual hetereosexuals who get chicks, and there are failed hetereosexuals who have to resort to inflatable chicks.

you're talking about the latter category.

There are one or two posting on this very forum; I should clarify, though, that in my OP I was using 'latex women' as a metaphor for what these guys think women should actually be like, not that they actutally use dolls. They want a totally uncomplicated relationship where the woman worships them, does everything they say, and wants sex at the drop of a hat.

As opposed to, as was previously indicated, women who want a strong 'prince' figure who will cuddle and help them in the kitchen but will never get angry or demanding.

I think that the person who suggested 'autosexual' got my meaning - people for whom other people are essentially props in their own play.

The Matrix is a pretty decent film and contains a scene regarded as one of the greatest action scenes of all time.

Wikipedia even has an entire article on the pill concept:

Do you mean as the "A B*****' Bod" by Crumb about Mr. Natural's presenting one to Flakey Foont???
http://www.jstor.org/pss/1465657

The cartoon is also reviewed in the movie/documentary "Crumb" (1994).

Some expert probably has a technical name for it by now.

Then, there's the older book "The Nympho and other Maniacs" by Irving Wallace (1972).

i agree, autosexual looks like the word you are describing. i've had sex with men who were like that. they were strange experiences, and i got better at filtering out those who didn't see me as a human being. it felt quite dehumanising.

it's in response to the MRA guys posting here instead of there. It's an aspect of sexuality that is often more political than personal.

What do you have against MRA's and discussing men's issues?

To claim that the men's movement is purely about misogyny and dominating women is just purely slanderous and false. There are actually specific issues, independent of women's issues, that affect men. Also, I know that there are men like you've described in the OP, but I fail to see what this has to do with MRA's.

If you are talking about guys that are only interested in the physical aspects of a relationship, that's called ether being immature or doing all their thinking with their wrong head.

Autosexual is probably the wrong word:
http://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?co ... moothing=3

Confusion seems to reign here amongst the concepts in "The Female Eunuch" by Germaine Greer, and those in "Vamps & Tramps" by Camille Paglia, and the moderately old slogan "male chauvinist", (in this forum, more as in the "Urban Dictionary": "Male Chauvinist Pig", A male person who thinks women are merely objects to be used for pleasure, esthetic value or labour):

I don't know the name but try looking up "real doll". They are very expensive though.

There's a Japanese word, "otaku", which basically means a stay-at-home person, but can also refer to the type of man the OP described. I saw a documentary clip on Youtube about a Japanese guy who has over one hundred "Candy Girl" dolls, and he said he prefers them to real women because he cannot own a real woman. It was referencing the idea that archetypes of the other sex's behaviour are overhyped and dangerous.

What's interesting is how those archetypes shift as we age.

I'm old enough to be over the doubly false virgin/whore dichotomy. Now i am just under the impression that most available women in my age group are borderline-irrational harpies with a lot of anger directed toward their exes and often a bunch of bratty kids running around.

I'm sure they have a negative impression of me, too.

well, otaku, actually is the japanese version of "geek" and "nerd" the usual stereotype, as the same towards nerds and geeks, goes that they are clumsy, have no social skills and can't talk to women, mmmm, seems to resemble some aspie traits. Otaku is refered to obsession towards anime and, including but not necessarily, fascination for anime girls. I have seen some comments from members of hentai or adult anime forums, stating that they prefer the "2D girls" than real ones, by the way.

*Those japanese dolls are cute.
