Being a hate filled conservative I thought the "they really just need a little bit more free health care and government assistance” thing was bad enough but it wasn’t nearly as blasphemous as “well, if they don’t have ketchup to go with the steak then I’m just not interested”. I've never seen anyone put ketchup on steak.
Why not just sh!t on it!

Speaking of culinary wrongs, why don't Americans put vinegar on their "freedom" fries?

Who puts vinegar on French fries? Meh, doesn't bother me I'm not eating potatoes anymore. Solanine dudes.

Yeah, I've seen the vinegar on fries thing but not in the US. In the Pittsburgh region they're known to put gravy on fries which is even goofier .

Nothing tops the Quebec poutine:

I've never heard of vinegar on fries, maybe I'll try that sometime. Now poutine on the other hand... I may have to pass.

I've done vinegar on fries, mustard on fries, and the very Seattle tartar sauce on fries, but my current favorite is to go Buffalo style and toss fries with Frank's Red Hot and dip them in blue cheese dressing. Messy, but satisfying.

Which, despite the name, was set in Minnesota for most of the film.

Well, Fargo is right on the border.

One grandparent of mine is a native there. I spent a few summers there, and Thanksgiving on one occasion.

It was in a small town of 595. If you stood on the main dirt road, you could see one house and only one house.

They all seemed very laid back and unassuming and could pop in at a whim. I never really noticed a thick accent here.

There was some prejudice toward Native Americans, due to alcohol abuse. One car would drive up and down that dirt road as fast as they could push the car-- maybe 120 mph. I'td be some big bomber of a car loaded with Walleye. They would stop by and pop their trunk open, and you'd see a towel with ice and fish on top.

They would sell these because there was no limit on these for them, due to their reservation status. They would sell them for "booze" was the popular prejudice.

There was an outsider there from Texas that farmed 500 acres, and this was frowned on a bit. He was seen there as a money Raider. On occasion you'd see him checking out his spread out land in his Jet Ranger helicopter.

vinegar on fries is brilliant,

i love the savoury taste and especially when combined with a good steak and a nice semi sweet whikey sauce, though i often use a side of salad with vinegar in stead.

I am proud to call Minneapolis home!
I don't say most of the things on this video. I don't put ketchup on my steak but I LOVE vinegar on my fries.

English-style chips (fries) are not worth eating without malt vinegar. I throw Sarson's all over my chips.

There's a town 20 miles north where I live where everyone eat chips, cheese and gravy. :eew:

I'm intrigued by this Minnesota place as possible a cheaper alternative to going to Scandinavia.
