John Safran is one of my favourite TV personalities (although I've only acquired his programmes via bit-torrent--as far as I know, he has never been televised in the USA).

I suspect that most Americans have at least a distant relative who thinks that people can be possessed by demons.

It's pure religious superstition. Overly religious people may believe this. Some overly Christian parents believe that toys and popular culture are nothing but demons and won't even let their kids have any toys. Followers of Bill Gothard believe this.

Watch our politics sometimes. We have LEADERS that believe in people that are possessed by demons.

I've read some posts by WP members in the past who had described how they had had relatives or had belonged to churches that believed their Asperger's was caused by the Devil.

It is one thing to believe demons exist and another to think every mental disorder is caused by them that
is just stupid! :D
