In general not in the least. But I'll run or fight when needed. Instinct and all.

I don't really fear death, I would just very much like to live for as long as possible

Either you never have to think again, or you're dropped into a hot dark lake of fire and brimstone to be tormented by imps for eternity depending on your religiousity, if the judeo-christian-islamic version of events is correct.

I fear death. Its more of the thought that i wont be alive anymore when being alive it the only thing i know, than actually dying. I know it will happen and pass though so i can only thing i can do now wait while living and make sure i dont regret my actions.

But then I have also solved said greatest mystery - several of them, actually.

I have had many near-death experiences. I've nearly been sweat out to sea, swept down class 5 rapids, fallen off 100ft+ cliffs..

Fear, at least for me, is all about apprehension. Either not knowing how something will turn out, or anticipating a dangerous situation. Once I'm IN the dangerous situation the fear pretty much goes away and I'm just dealing with it.

I'm far more afraid of social situations than death.

As for religion, they exploit anything we're fearful or ignorant of. If you're OK with not knowing, then you don't need religion.

I certainly hope those beliefs are completely false. The reason I fear death so much is because I don't know what will happen to me after I die, depending on if there is an after life or not. If it turns out I'm going to be tortured forever by a narcissistic god for not believing in its existence and worshiping, then I will have had a reason to fear what comes after death.

my grandpa died on the OR table and was resuscitated. after he recovered several weeks later, everybody asked him the same question- "what did you see?" all he would say in reply, was that he wasn't afraid of death anymore. myself, i only fear pain. an uncomplicated death can only be good, at the right time.

If I fear death, I wouldn't have suicidal tendencies

At least your Dad seemed to go out happy. A lot of people don't.

a very holy and spiritually signifigant thing one could do for somebody they know who is dying and very frightened of it, would be to do what one could to console said person as they were going off into the beyond. there is power in numbers, and if a number of people are in the frightened dying person's room praying for said person, i believe that person would likely have a much kinder and better departure. i saw this happening at my dad's hospice.

Respectfully, I think these are two different fears. One is a fear of death, the other a fear of life.

I don't fear death itself; I fear what may happen after- a fear or the unknown...I wonder what it will be like; will I be alone? Will there be eternal life or not?
