Does the Decreasing Impartiality of the News Bother You?

I wasn't paying much attention to the treatment of Herman Cain - how was it racist?
The bogus sexual harassment allegations for starters... They all magically went away when he dropped out of the race.
The reason the left found her terrifying was because she was a successful pro-life Conservative woman, whom chose to actually give birth to Trig Palin rather than have an abortion because he had down syndrome.
Fact of the matter is, Palin didn't have to be experienced, she was going to be Vice President, the person that would have chosen the advisors, the cabinet, etc. would have been McCain.
Furthermore, if you look at Senator McCain's family history, I think he is more likely to have a health issue when he retires. Both his father and grandfather died just after they retired, furthermore McCain's 90+ year-old mother is still alive and still drives a car.
Also, as far as Cheney is concerned, I didn't like him, but he would have been a much better President than Obama is.
Herman Cain pretty much passed me by. I'll have to read up on what happened. But I wouldn't be surprised if the allegations 'went away' once he was out of the media spotlight, and the media, having the attention span of a gnat, moved on.
But Palin is terrifying because she is a moron, and both proud of being a moron whilst not realising she's a moron. Much as I'd disagree with a hell of a lot of Obama's politics, as a citizen of the world there was a significant relief in someone as smart and simply competent as he being in power.
In what way would Cheney have been better than Obama?

Sarah of the Frozen North was not a moron. She may have been lacking in some knowledge of international politics, but she was smart enough to compaign for the office of governor of Alaska and win. She improved the redistribution of oil profits to the citizens of Alaska while in office, too.
Not a moron, but not well enough educated to hold the office of president either.

Are you suggesting that the myth of the Liberal Media is actually real?
I don't even really see Obama as a liberal but more on the center right. I think, for whatever reason, big business wants Obama in rather than Romney because they think he'll be a better front man for their interests. There's no real clash of ideology going on, as much as the media would have us believe. The same establishment is funding both candidates and just testing the waters with the public. If Romney's more popular, they'll more aggressively pursue their agenda of stripping away Medicare and Social Security, If Obama gets elected, they'll pursue their goals more gradually. The corporate class wants to see what they can get away with without mass revolt.

ruveyn, Palin was running to be Vice President, her knowledge of international politics would have improved fairly rapidly, while Joe Biden is almost always wrong when it comes to foreign policy.
McCain would have chosen competitent advisors, and to be quite blunt she had more experience than Obama when it came to actually running something.

A vice president is one missed heartbeat or bullet shot from the office of president, therefore a vice presidential candidate must have sufficient background to assume the duties of the office of president.
A vice president is a spare president in waiting.
Also a tie breaker in the Senate.

ruveyn, she is certainly more competitent than Joe Biden, and her capability to be President would improve over time, Joe Biden on the other hand (well the running joke when he was a senator if you wanted to know you were right on foreign policy, always take the opposite position of Biden, you'll be right 100% of the time). Let's be honest, Biden isn't exactly playing with a full deck. It is scarier that Biden is a heartbeat away from the Presidency, rather than Palin.
