No, but its debatable whether or not Ireland ever fully recovered from the effects of the potato famine, or the economic and social factors that caused it.

Mass mortality and migration for example, forged the flight of indigenous hands that could have been instrumental in creating a more prosperous Ireland.


Kind of how black Americans are still suffering from the legacy of slavery, racism, and segregation.

There are but few now. The youngest would now be in their seventies. I know a few who are alive know, but most of the survivors I met have died. They were old.

However the effects on the families and descendants of the survivors are there. For the second generation there are grandparents missing. Psychological effects of the shoah on the survivors will be felt by their children. The survivors lived (by definition) by their lives were totally disrupted. The ones liberated from the camps were malnourished and near death, many human skeletons, barely alive.
