People still do that??
I call them "chips" due to the influence of my Irish husband. But I never picked up the habit of calling potato chips "crisps", so I call both things by the same name. :D Now nobody knows what the heck I'm talking about.

The irony is that they were never really "French".

The French speaking Belgians street venders would sell the deep fried potato snacks to the American doughboys serving around Ypres in the FIrst World War. These first americans to eat the snack dubbed them "French Fries". But they are really are Belgian Fries.

That's because a lot of people are dissatisfied with America. Especially here in the Pacific Northwest.

What's not to love?
Who wouldn't want to come to the land of giant bacon cheeseburgers, Big Gulp sodas, buffalo wings, and huge big box stores? I think people really come here because of the superior shopping opportunities. Where else can you drive SUVs the size of school busses? Visit a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant, go to a Walmart, and visit the Mall of America. You'll never want to go home.
If you don't mind dodging tornados, hurricanes, wildfires, huge floods, and serial killers, America is the place for you. Welcome, We have plenty of room.
