Foster parents have kids removed by council for being UKIP
Ok, you don't understand me, because that point seems to have absolutely no relevance to our conversation.
The best I can come up with is that you think they might be the children of people who are from an ethnic minority, but not recent immigrants. If true, then this would be an even worse situation.
However, that would appear to not be the case. For one thing, "white Irish" and "other white background" (might not be exactly right) are considered ethnic minorities in the UK, so a white immigrant from Europe or anyone else is still part of an ethnic minority.

The council say the children are "not indigenous white British" and "not UK children", and that the "ethnic and cultural needs" of the children have to be met. Nigel Farage says, in response to this issue, "we have nothing against people from Poland or anywhere else in the world". It seems very likely that these are the children of Polish immigrants to the UK.

You know what is meant - although I'd be astonished if that was the counci's reasoning. If they were "white Irish", would they have to play them this...

...or some Sean Nós, or perhaps an hour of Irish-language TG4 every day?
Tthere is no diffeence functionally in any way between a white English child and a white French child. A white English child would I'm sure be raised wonderfully by our froggy and bull-fleeing friends. Just as I would expect us roast beefs to be able to run a French child, or a Polish child.
Look, unless there were some serious underlying problems with the fostered children (no matter what the race) there really is no case to answer. The council are out-and-out bigots and have been called on it. It's as simple as that.
I also don't see the relevance of your point?
And the irony of you calling someone else a bigot
Either Farage raised the prospect of them being Polish randomly, or they are from Eastern Europe, probably Poland. Besides which, I am fairly certain the term "race" would have been used if they were black or Asian, rather than "ethnicity", though of course ethnicity is correct.
From the California Foster Families, Inc. website:
FOSTER PARENT CERTIFICATION
California Foster Families, Inc. is dedicated to providing therapeutic intervention within the optimal environment for change. The agency provides extensive support and training to foster parents and ongoing treatment for children. Foster parents most suited to provide the highest level of care are recruited for certification by California Foster Families, Inc. Foster parents are recruited through word of mouth advertising, person-to-person recruiting, and walk-ins. All prospective foster parents are required to complete an application process. The initial application process requires completion of an application, home study, Live Scan of fingerprints which includes Child Abuse Index, FBI and Department of Justice clearances, criminal record statement, medical and TB screening, submission of DMV printout, copy of social security card, drivers license and auto insurance, emergency disaster plan, facility sketch, and completion of a pre-certification visit were additional documentation in accordance with Title 22 regulations is completed. Prospective foster parents are also required to complete twelve (12) hours of training prior to certification in addition to 1st Aid and CPR certification. This includes 8 hours of pre-certification training provided by the agency. Upon completion of all required documentation the physical plant of foster homes is evaluated and a home safety checklist is completed. The physical plant must meet the requirements set forth by Title 22 regulations. Upon certification of a foster home, the process aimed towards re-certification will begin. The agency social worker will support the foster parents in completing requirements for re-certification. The agency will provide ongoing trainings for certified foster homes to maintain the highest quality of service.
A quick perusal of relevant Title 22 statutes did not turn up any requirement for review of voting records.
However, if you would care to make a more in-depth analysis, here is the relevant link:

I think you are the one lacking understanding.
Do I need to spell out in ALL-CAPS that a couple was denied as foster parents simply because they were members of a political party?

That's how I understand it too, just to add that the decision was made because they were fostering immigrant children and being members of UKIP.
I think the decision was wrong as their abilities as foster parents were never in question. As I understand it UKIPs manifesto is to cap the immigration numbers not stop it, so I'm not sure that being a member of UKIP would suggest you were in some way racist. The only issue I think was at the heart of the decision was that UKIP would end multiculturalism.
multiculturalism by local and national government
and all publicly funded bodies" UKIP manifesto
This was a knee jerk reaction, on political grounds by the council not necessarily in the best interest of the childrens needs, although that is what the statment said from the council.
Can't see anything wrong with that. The government shouldn't be promoting that doctrine anyway. It should be seeking to unite all the people living in this country by treating them the same and effectively being "culture-blind", not constantly playing up people's different identities and keeping them apart.

But I haven't said anything to the contrary! Seriously, what are you disagreeing with me on? This conversation would have ended long ago, but you are imagining that my stance is drastically different from yours.
Again, I am struggling to find any relevance to your point from my point. I can make two connections: you think I think the foster parents have been negligent (I have given no indication that I think that is the case), or you think that these people have been blacklisted from fostering entirely because of their political allegiance, when it has been made clear that they are only being stopped from fostering immigrant children (though it is because of the political allegiance and the beliefs they are perceived to hold as a result).
They have had the children taken away because they are members of a political party that wants to severely reduce immigration. Most people join political parties because they agree with or like their policies. The council worker made two assumptions: the people agreed with UKIP's policy on immigration, and that made them unsuitable parents for the children of immigrants. This paragraph is merely to clarify things for you and does not represent my personal opinion
Personally I think that even if the second assumption is right, it's nearly always going to be a minor issue, certainly for short term foster parents, and young children will nearly always be better off raised by loving foster parents than in a children's home.
You are correct. That is not your personal opinion.
This is.
Yes, correct. I suppose there might be some people who want to be raised by someone who thinks that they (or their parents) shouldn't have come to the country in the first place. If the council perceived that to be the case, then I understand why they made the call. Not saying it was the right decision, in fact you'll notice I said the foster home was preferable to a children's home, but I understand their reasoning.
There also might be some people who think a children's home is better than a home with loving parents, but I'm fairly sure that wasn't what you were questioning.

It's ridiculous, political affiliation should't determine parenting skills. As long as that child is wanted by the parents and feels comfortable, it doesn't matter if they voted for the Monster Raving Loony Party!
The social services can be so full of BS.

Who actually told them? It's none of their business and, on the face of it, sounds like political bullying to me.
I'd say that if they voted for the BNP, or the Communists, or anyone else as long as they were suitable.
It is political bullying quite simply. I have no idea who actually told them, maybe the parents were active in social media and "incriminated" themselves? I put that in quotations to emphasize how ridiculous and unfair I think the whole thing is. Not only that but potentially traumatizing to the foster children

You can safely assume that you've created God in your own image when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do
Politics, as important as they are, are secondary to the health and emotional care of the children.
Has anyone asked the children if they were happy living with these people?
Did they feel cared about?
Did they feel safe?
Does anyone, including the British government, care about the upheaval these children are being put through?
If these children were rescued from an abusive or neglectful situation, and found a safe, caring home with this Ukip couple, were they not better off?
Does anyone have any facts pointing to anything wrong in the Ukip members' home that necessitated the kids' removal? If so, there is no longer a discussion.
If the home was the 'Haven In A Storm' that they needed, they should be returned immediately, if anyone really cares about these poor kids.

I fundamentally agree.
From the sounds of it, no.
Did they feel safe?
The couple had been fostering on and off for seven years, and had looked after some very difficult children, and the council said that their record of care was exemplary.
These people were former Labour voters - if you know a place like Rotherham (which I don't, but I can guess), it is extremely Labour and is a very working class/umderclass type place and has a very sizeable . It has had a Labour MP continuously since a by-election in 1933. Labour have been in control of the borough council there continuously since 1973. You could put a mass murderer up in a red rosette and it would get elected with a massive majority.
No - according to the council themselves, these children (who I gather were Polish - there were three children; all were under 10 and one was a baby) were there temporarily and were simply whisked away because the foster carers voted UKIP. The carers were told that UKIP were a racist party (we have parties like the BNP and the National Front which are racist but these were never under discussion) and that there was no more to discuss. UKIP has a policy against open-door immigration from EU countries, since well over a million people have - and continue to come - from Poland since 2004.
I myself am a member of UKIP and have supported them in campaigns. UKIP is a party that campaigns on British withdrawal from the EU and has several strong factions within the party - the classical liberals and the social conservatives. It opposes government support for multicultural programmes and would scrap them. It is civic nationalist and a non-racist political party.
Rotherham MBC itself has had a major scandal erupt there in the last year or so in that they had known about gangs of men, almost all of Pakistani or Bangladeshi Muslim origin, men grooming, exploiting and raping mainly - but not exclusively - white teenage girls in the area. The social workers and police knew about this for over ten years and the local police and council simply ignored girls who tried to report what was going on because they considered it against community relations to bring these scumbags to book. (This has been going on in several different areas across the country, though.)
We've had several other cases of UKIP members and candidates being discriminated against recently - a prospective UKIP candidate who was told that she couldn't look after children because of her UKIP membership, and, elsewhere, a UKIP candidate in recent police elections was banned from the hustings podium by a university student union.
This were an emergency placement - the Polish couple could obviously not take care of them.
That said, the UKIP couple had the children attending Polish language lessons, and the children could rattle off songs in Polish and English.
None. The council spokespeople themselves admit there is absolutely nothing wrong with the standard of care the foster couple provided. It was solely down to the council being tipped off (anonymously, in typical Stasi fashion) that they were members of the UK Independence Party.
It's pure far-left bigotry from some loonies in the council.
There is a by-election in Rotherham happening on Thursday. UKIP are standing.
Nigel Farage (UKIP's leader) is demanding that the children be returned and that heads should roll.
Here is Farage speaking on Sky News the other day:
