I believe there's a difference between knowing Christ and being a Christian. Knowing Jesus is the most wonderful experience. I can't ever deny that. Not even when I checked out different religions. In all honesty if it weren't for Jesus, I would've left long ago. So if someone left Christianity I'd simply want to know if it's because of Christians or because of Christ. To me, that's a huge difference. I know people that have left Christianity but not Christ. I believe Christ is a personal reality regardless of my faith. So, while I am a Christian, that is mainly because I desire to know Christ. Not because Christians are such wonderful people - some are, some aren't.

Having said that there will be people that are gracious about this, and people who will want to tell you that you're going to hell. Whatever the case may be, I believe Jesus would want your heart to be filled with peace and grace, so wherever Life's road leads you, I hope that's what you'll find.

Bahail is a nifty religion. Totally harmless to the public. Unlike Islam which is a disease and a scourge on the human race.

I was brought up a Christian, but I am not one anymore. I do not have any particular religion at the moment. However, although for a short time I considered myself anti-religion, I do not think that way anymore.

My question to Christians is - how would you feel if there was someone close to you who left Christianity (either for another religion or for atheism)? Would you not be desperate for them to see the error of their ways for the sake of their own soul? Could you even think about them in the same way as you once did? If someone close to you were to leave Christianity, would you prefer that they joined another religion or that they became an atheist? I have heard many religious people say that they view the various world religions as just like different paths to the same truth, but is this really the case for a revealed religion like Christianity?


I'd rather they'd return to Christianity or go to Judaism or atheism and hopefully be brought back to Christianity at least before they die.

I would like them to live by the moral code of the revealed religions for their sake.
There are aspects to some religions which run counter to some peoples beliefs in equality for instance, or their belief in birth control, or their advocacy for the sovereignty of the human being as in the case of women seeking to terminate pregnancy. The idea of a loving God condemning souls to suffer forever in hell sounds repugnant, counter intuitive and unbelievable to me.
I see the greatest gifts of the great religions to be borne here on earth. The sense of community, the moral code, doing good things for people less fortunate and the like.
If their reasons were sound enough it is possible that their calling cannot be adequately answered by their religion of birth. So I don't feel seeking an alternative path to God or seeking no path to God at all should be frowned upon.
Above all I would want them to be happy and healthy.
