They do pat-downs here in the UK - or through scanners - and from what I've read, they aren't as intimate as the ones that the TSA seem to use. Some of the stories I've heard about the TSA have horrified me.

Expecting me to look sociable and not anxious/introverted would be about as realistic as telling a black person not to look so black. It's who I am.

I didn't know that. That's another reason for me not to fly. I wear loose baggy clothing most of the time
(for example, I'm not fat but if I buy t-shirts I buy size 2x). Are you sure? I saw a video on Youtube of a pregnant lady getting searched and her clothes didn't look loose to me.

Another newer reason for me to not fly is that I don't want to go through the machine that takes a naked picture of you. Whether it's "safe" for the general public I don't know but I recently had cancer and did a bunch of radiation and don't need to be exposed to more unnecessarily.

I do not know where you got this information, but it is false. I am a commercial pilot and I personally got Sexually Assaulted by the TSA. I should mention that these security procedures only take place in the USA. I am a natural born US Citizen and I have since fled the USA because of the TSA and I am to the point where I may never return to my native soil because of the Terrorizing Sexual Assault. They are not picky, but the fact is that they do often pick out your attractive females for repeated and redundant "enhanced" security procedures. The sad part is, all of these procedures have nothing to do with security, but rather, the Illusion of Security Theater. Anyone that allows it to happen to them is a sheep. Wake up and smell the Tyranny. 9/11 = Lie. Patriot Act, DHS, TSA, etc.. Are all based on this lie.

I propose a return to Airport Security to the level that it was pre-2000. This would include:
100% elimination of the full body scanners
100% elimination of the enhanced pat down procedures
100% elimination of the liquids ban
100% elimination of taking off of the shoes
Reduction in security force at airports
Privatization of airport security – Let the airlines handle their own security
Allowing people to walk with their friends/ family to the gate at airports prior to departure
Allowing people to meet their friends/family at the gate upon arrival at commercial airports
100% elimination of baggege inspection without the person being present.

Not allowing CBP to confiscate person's personal property at the border without legitimate cause. A laptop is not a cheap toy and also there are often confidential files on a person’s computer.

I remember that it was like to travel in the 80s and 90s by air. Today if you have a flight from SVO - JFK America requires Russia to inspect a person’s baggage just like in the USA, but there is one major diffrence. They do it in the presence of the passenger. I think baggage inspection without the passenger being there is wong and should be illegal. That is someone’s personal property. How does it sound when I tell people "Don't check anything you can't live without or replace, like an iPad." This is so wrong. I personally think that airport security should go back to the level it was as in the 80s or 90s when flying was enjoyable.

The TSA only does pat-downs if you're wearing loose-fitting or baggy clothing that noticeably hides your body shape. That's partly why they ask you to take off hats, jackets, hoodies, scarves, etc. when going through security- its so they don't have to stop and take the time to do a pat-down. I've been patted down a couple of times while going through security, but that was mostly because I was wearing baggy jeans and baggy hoodie at the time. I wore better-fitting clothes the next time around, and they din't ask me to step out of line for a pat-down. If you want to ensure minimal contact with TSA agents, wear clothes that fit you properly (pants that either don't require a belt, or just take off the belt before going through security) and take everything out of your pockets and put it on the conveyor to go through the scanner; wallet, phone, camera, purse, music player, loose change, receipts, pens, etc.

I have. The pat down is not in any sexual areas.

Pat downs only happen if they detect something with the scanners. They will first wave a handheld device and if it beeps again even after you remove something from your person (say a small stray coin in your pocket) they will pat you down.

The intrusive search is only if they find something weird in your luggage scans or if they think you're behaving oddly during the scan and the damn thing keeps beeping.

At that point they will take you to a small private office and do the search there.

He is the video I mentioned. Being touched like that at the airport would bother me and I've heard much worse stories than this.

Wrong again. By definition the TSA screeners hands are supposed to go up your inner thigh until resistance is felt. Again, I personally got sexually assaulted by the TSA and I am a commercial pilot.

Remember, the choice of:
1) A X-Ray AIT Machine that causes cancer
2) A Millimeter Wave AIT Machine that rips your DNA
3) Sexual Assault
IS NO CHOICE AT ALL! WAKE UP SHEEPLE

Just ask Miss America
"Miss USA molested by TSA" on Youtube

As to the "remove all scanners" crowd, I always tell people; which is more important: 30 seconds of privacy, or the health and safety of you and the dozens or hundreds of people around you?

I'll take a little brief awkwardness over the increased chance of being shot, stabbed, poisoned or blown up, thanks.

@Zokk I have no issues with the scanners but I'm worried about them putting thwir hands into my panties and under my bra to jiggle and squeeze my breasts and bottom. Do they pull down tube tops?

"Those who sacrifice Freedom for Security deserve Neither."

The Scanners do nothing for security. They are there to make the infrequent flyer who knows no better the appearance of security and make him/her feel safe. They have an extremely high false positive rate. They are there for the Illusion of Security Theater and to inflate the profits of people like Michael Chertoff.

If you are truly afraid then vote for real security... K-9. Just do your research on topics like "bomb sniffing dogs"

And remember, all of this theater was created because of a lie.

No, they don't. If they do ask to do a pat-down, they only do a quick hand-pass over your outline (sides, and sides of legs) and sometimes your profile (front and back, and front and back of legs). Its the same as just running a hand lightly and quickly over yourself; they're not taking your measurements, they're only making sure you don't have anything weird stashed under any loose areas of clothing (in your pants legs or shirt sleeves, for the most part). There's hardly any significant contact at all. They don't do anything more than that, and if they do, they're doing it wrong, and you can tell them so. The longest they've ever taken to pat me down was about 15 seconds, really. And like was stated in an earlier post, they stop and change direction immediately when they find the outline of the body beneath clothing. They also use a wand first, when they pull someone out of line, which doesn't even touch your clothes. Only if the wand finds something, do they do a pat-down.

You might want to try practicing the pat-down on yourself, before you go, just to kind of get an idea how how long it takes and how much contact is made, and where. It won't have the same impact as being checked by someone else, but it might help a bit- I dunno.

But, in the end, they don't do pat-downs as often as the fear-mongers say they do, and there's actually only a moderate percent chance that you'll actually have to submit to one. If you prepare and dress properly beforehand, and don't leave anything in your pockets when you go through the scanner, you'll be just fine.

Wish I could give more advice and support than that, but I can't, really. I can only recount my experiences (never had a bad one in all my years of post 9/11 flight, and I fly two or three round-trips a year, on average), tell you not to believe the fear-mongers, and to be patient and tolerant as best you can; a general rule for all forms of mass transport.

Those are the people in Washington that say that these procedures are for your safety, right? I am tired of hearing "Terror" "Terrorist" and "Terrorism". Remember 9/11 was a lie, and all these procedures come from this lie. I am a US Citizen living abroad and I will not return to my native country because of the Terrorizing Sexual Assault (TSA) and these procedures. If it happened anywhere other than an airport it would be sexual assault or rape.

You're one of those conspiracy theorists, aren't you? This thread isn't about whatever 'conspiracy' some people think is behind modern airport security; it's about giving support and advice to someone who doesn't like being touched in certain places or ways get through airport security without feeling violated or taken advantage of. Save the NWO type stuff for a different thread.

Nope

I am a:
1) College Graduate with a degree in Aviation
2) Certified Flight Instructor
3) Airline Transport Pilot
4) Educated frequent flyer
5) 9/11 Ground Zero first responder

Now, I can ask you: You're one of those sheeple, aren't you? You know, the ones that believe whatever the government and government controlled media tell you. Please, the truth is out there, you just have to accept it. In terms of avoiding getting Sexually Assaulted at an American Airport, there is one solution. Leave the USA completely, and never return. That is the only solution. Keep in mind, the TSA is moving in on American railway stations, bus stations, proms, highway checkpoints, sporting events, etc...

As a matter of fact, I'm not. I volunteer multiple times a week with my local chapter of an all-volunteer grassroots organization that's working to help low-income workers, the elderly, and disabled people in the US fight for their rights to safety, security, property, and the pursuit of happiness. We do that, and also campaign to change the laws and regulations that are keeping the working poor, the elderly and the disabled in fear, poverty, and helplessness. She shocking part? No one with money gives a f**k that millions of people in the US live at or below the poverty line; but we do; we care. We see what's going on, and we don't like it, so we're doing something to change it.

But the only conspiracy I see out there is that of the US legislators and their benefactor corporations working together to gain and keep as much money as possible, while leaving everyone else to fend for themselves or die trying. I'll maybe partly believe that Bush allowed 9/11 to happen in order to start a false-flag operation in the Middle East, but nothing more radical than that. No bombs in the towers, no extra fuel tanks on board the planes; that the US government recruited Al-Qaeda to carry out the attacks, etc.

If you want to debate who's actually responsible for the worlds problems, we can either open up a new thread, or continue in PMs, but I think we should try try to keep from further derailing a thread that has probably served its original purpose

Sounds like a conspiracy theorist to me.

Let me guess, you're a internet flame warrior who's also an ex green beret who has mastered every martial art and has a PhD in any subject that comes up as well. Go troll in another thread.
