I bet you could find more genocidal and hateful things said with regularity every day, every hour, on Arabic-language Facebook comments all over the Middle East and well beyond. (But the Electronic Intifada, with its muckracking obsession with Israel and the Jewish state, will never mention this, because it has a brutal, one-sided agenda.
You can't speak Arabic. How do you know what this means and what the wider context would be? Because EI says so? Do a bit of thinking on your own.
Even if this is true, there are hateful idiots out there in every single country on Earth. Are you going to reprint those too, or are you just going to print the ones found on anti-Israel websites with a very specific - I would say hateful - point of view? (There are more genuinely moderate Palestinian voices out there, and those I would happily listen to.)
It's nice to know that you support a website of a man born into immense privilege, too. Ali Abuinmah is the American-born, Ivy League-educated son of a Jordanian diplomat. Not bad, eh?
Here's more information on him:
Quote:
Guardian Mid-East editor legitimizes the political pornography of Ali AbunimahThe Guardian’s Middle East Editor, Ian Black, provided an analysis of President Obama’s March 21 speech in Jerusalem (titled ‘Obama shows emotional and political intelligence with Jerusalem speech‘) which represents a good example the Guardian Left tendency to impute ‘authenticity’ to the most radical and uncompromising activists. This journalistic tick can be seen, for instance, in Harriet Sherwood’s decision to award ‘progressive’ Hechsher labels to both Joseph Dana and slain terror-abetting anti-Israel campaigner, Vittorio Arrigoni.
Such political posturing also colored their coverage of the so-called ‘Palestine Papers’ in 2011, where Mahmoud Abbas’s putative flexibility during negotiations with Israel over the refugee issue was characterized as ”craven” – as ”selling out” Palestinian rights – in a series of reports which seemed to reflect the media group’s attempt to ‘out-Palestinian’ the Palestinians themselves.
Abunimah writes some appalling, abhorrent stuff - like:
"Supporting Zionism is not atonement for the Holocaust, but its continuation in spirit."
""Two states for two peoples" is code for racist segregation. A supremacist "Jewish state" for privileged, and a ghetto for native majority."
"Obama is feeding Israel’s victim mentality, when Israel is an aggressor and occupier. He’s pandering to psychopaths."
"Isn't it time for a popular Palestinian revolution in the form of a third intifada?"
"Busy faking/planting evidence? "Mossad/Shin Bet help Bulgarian authorities work to confirm attacker's identity""
