The heading of this thread is:
"You know you're a left-winger if..."
My response is "You" followed by some common liberal beliefs.

Can you keep it down to the five most offensive traits, the long list are too boring=DNR.

Which kind of liberalism? Economic liberalism is called "capitalism." Perhaps you mean progressivism. The left, on the other hand, is no more liberal than Italian Fascism was conservative.

Most of those are biased caricatures of liberal beliefs.

Liberals aren't against markets even global ones, but none of them are free, all of them are under-regulated, which is the problem. Liberals believe in regulating capitalism in order to keep it humane.


I've never known any liberals to support Hamas. Although we do have legitimate complaints about Israel, even if some of us have Israeli relatives.



I believe 6 months is the present law, I don't know anyone who supports 7, and I don't know any liberal who doesn't support euthanasia for the terminally ill.


This is fair, since many liberals blame the USA for terrorism, like Noam Chompsky.


Ha, ha, that would be conservatives from the south. Liberals don't hate government, only tea party goons.


Paradoxically, it is those people who have the time and education to realize the abuses of power that go on, everyone more poor than that is too busy trying to make a living. (And that's how the oligarchy likes it to stay)


Obviously, they receive more income. And everyone does pay some form of tax, even if it's just unemployment insurance.

Liberals are center-right--and almost as capitalist as the conservatives.



I'm refering to left-wingers. They're more common in the EU/EEA area, but many young and ignorant Americans are socialsts as well.



Plenty of European socialists support the forced abortions in China.



Noam Chomsky is a left-wing counterpiece to Glenn Beck.



The Tea Party and the socialists are mainly the same people. The difference is who got to brainwash them first.



According to Fons Trompenaars, Geerth Hofstede and Richard Gesteland, no country whatsoever has a more achievement based system than the US.

Both the worst homophobes and the worst racists here in Europe are left-wing. Most of the feminists that actually achieve something here are center-right.

You think brain damaging narcotics like marijuana, cocaine, and heroin, should be legal, but think that soda, trans fat, and salt, are so harmful that they should be banned.
you care more about the content of school lunches then the quality of the content in classes.
you think the occupy movement looting stores and raping people is free expression
you think that the tea party is a bigger threat than Al-Qaida
you think that stop and frisk is racist, even though it prevented thousands of minorities from being killed
you love the government when its giving you stuff, but hate it when it expects you to follow the law.
you don't recognize that the disintegration of the family has negative consequences

You say that you hate sexism, but want it to be legal to put women into the sexual slavery of prostitution
you say that you hate sexism, but think that gender selection abortion should be legal
you want more money to fight poverty, but don't want the government to check how effective an anti poverty program is

you think the police fighting crime is racist, but leaving criminals to run free in minority communities isn't
you say you believe that people are innocent until proven guilty, but even after people are proven guilty you still think their innocent, and demand the destruction of the law that convicted them

you deny that immoral actions are harmful, put cry of the harm caused by slightest economic disadvantage
you say the rich are evil, but you make exceptions for the ones in Hollywood, the DNC, or your own trust fund
you believe in restorative justice, even for rapists and pedophiles
you believe that being poor makes people steal
you are for gay marriage and oppose strait marriage
you think the only evil things are money and religion

Of course I am. Antisemitism is on the rise among left-wingers here, and to make it even more ironic, these are commonly people who don't give a damn about human right violations in the Arab world, in left-wing Latin American countries or in Africa. The fact of the matter is that many of them regularly defended the persecution of homosexuals in Easter Europe as recently as the 1990s.

The left's attacks on Israel are proof enough of antisemitism.

Many of them attack the Jewish people and culture more than Israel, but ignoring all that happens in Iran while still bitching about anything that happens in Israel, can't be motivated by anything but antisemitism. All those high and mighty left-wingers in Europe and the US, aren't living right next door to Hamas--and thus they do not have to make any of the difficult choices the Israeli government has had to make.

Israel is about 3/4 Jewish so I figure an attack on one is an attack on the other. I agree that the American and European left's criticism of how Israel handles conflicts with it's neighbors is bogus. Israel is located in a bad neighborhood and, if anything, their neighbors are less civil.

You don't have to be antisemistic to consider that both Israel and Palestine act stupidly and that their acts generally only further the conflict. Even more stupid is that it been proven from genetic testing that they are of the same people. (Something not very well know, propably because it's not a popular idea from one side or the other.) But that's not suprising that they act stupidly, they are humans after all.
