I hate insurance companies. Two years ago I went to the ER. For some reason I drove there instead of calling an ambulance. My heart hurt more then I can describe. When I got there 2AM all the lights were out and no one was at the front desk (this was Viroqua,WI a very small town). I looked like Fred Sanford (my hand was on my heart as I searched the halls for the ER.Later I joked that I was saying,"Elizabeth, I'm coming to join ya honey")! I finally found the ER and a huge team put me on a gurny...
Anyway (my insurance company is a major and respected one.) my insurance company refused to pay because of pre-existing conditions. I had no pre-existing conditions and my contract made that clear. After a year of receiving angry mail from the hospital, and my legal action my insurance company acknowledged the obvious and paid. Obviously, they were trying to rip me off.
Anyway, I am strongly for regulation of the insurance industry and tho I do not trust the government (it is a puppet of international corporations including insurance companies) I trust the government more then greedy insurance companies. At least we can vote for US president. We cannot vote for the president of an insurance company. The freedom of information act lets us at least know how we are being ripped off by the government. There is no freedom of information act that applies to international corporations.
Death panels? None in Obamacare. However, they exist in abundance in insurance companies!
