Google 'The Nakba'.

Ah, I know what that is. The failed attempt to exterminate the Jews of Mandatory Palestine.

Azzam Pasha, Secretary General of the Arab League, on the eve of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War (or 'Nakba' as the losers call it):

Quote:
This will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades.

That Azzam Pasha quote, and the date given for it, are highly dubious, as a little research would have revealed to you-

Quote:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdul_Rahman_Hassan_Azzam

One day after the State of Israel declared itself as an independent nation (14 May 1948), troops and assorted volunteers from Syria, Iraq, Egypt and Transjordan, entered Palestine, joining several thousand Palestinians. This marks the beginning of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.[29] A regularly cited claim is that Azzam declared on that day or on the eve of the war:

"This will be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Mongolian massacres and the Crusades."

The source of the quotation is usually given as a press conference in Cairo, which some versions say was broadcast by the BBC.[30] An Egyptian writer in 1961 maintained that the quotation was "completely out of context". He wrote that "Azzam actually said that he feared that if the people of Palestine were to be forcibly and against all right dispossessed, a tragedy comparable to the Mongol invasions and the Crusades might not be avoidable. ..... The reference to the Crusaders and the Mongols aptly describes the view of the foreign Zionist invaders shared by most Arabs."[31]

In 2010, doubt over the provenance of the quotation was voiced by Joffe and Romirowsky[32] and by Morris.[33]

The truth about the quotation was reported on Wikipedia late in 2010 and was later the subject of an article published by David Barnett and Efraim Karsh.[34][35] Azzam's words were found to have come from a time several months earlier, in an October 11, 1947 interview in the Egyptian newspaper Akhbar el-Yom.
In that interview he is reported as saying:

“ "Personally I hope the Jews do not force us into this war because it will be a war of elimination and it will be a dangerous massacre which history will record similarly to the Mongol massacre or the wars of the Crusades. I think the number of volunteers from outside Palestine will exceed the Palestinian population."

But of course, whenever there is any doubt, it's always safest just to swallow what your Zionist websites feed you, isn't it? Because the whole situation is just a matter of good vs evil to people like you.

Why don't all the jew bashers out there start focusing more on what goes on in the rest of the Middle East. Is there a law out there that says it's not a human rights violation unless the jews did it? For every Palestinian killed by Israeli forces, there are thousands of people killed by Assad, Abdullah II and Khameni. Furthermore, I've never seen an anti-Israeli activist mention the fact that the Gaza strip has one of the highest rates of executions per capita in the world, that Hamas bans homosexuality and that the barrier has saved thousands of lives... but hey, neither the jews nor a capitalist country did it, so I guess it's just "a part of their culture that we need to accept".

I can only speak for myself, but I am tired of witnessing Zionist propagandists trying to drum up support for Israel on English-speaking websites on the grounds that Israel is an embodiment of liberal, progressive values. At least the early Zionist pioneers were more honest:

“Arabs are fighting dispossession … the fear is not of losing land, but of losing the homeland of the Arab people, which others (we) want to turn into the homeland of the Jewish people. When we say the Arabs are the aggressors and we defend ourselves — that is only half the truth … politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves.”

David Ben-Gurion

"Every indigenous people will resist alien settlers as long as they see any hope of ridding themselves of the danger of foreign settlement. This is how the Arabs will behave and go on behaving so long as they possess a gleam of hope that they can prevent ‘Palestine’ from becoming the Land of Israel . . . nothing in the world can cause them to relinquish this hope, precisely because they are not a rabble but a living people. . . . All colonization must continue in defiance of the will of the native population. Therefore, it can continue and develop only under the shield of force which comprises an Iron Wall through which the local population can never break through. To the hackneyed reproach that this point of view is unethical, I answer, “absolutely untrue.” This is our ethic. There is no other ethic. . . . The only way to achieve a settlement in the future is total avoidance of all attempts to arrive at a settlement in the present."

The effect of the quote is fundamentally the same and was yes - in the build-up to the Arab-Israeli War. The nature of the quote and the circumstances are substantially true.

What he meant is quite simple: if Israel declares its statehood, we will massacre them. As they tried to do when Israel did just that.

Funny, that Ben-Gurion quote can only be found on anti-Zionist websites. I wonder why. I can't find any unbiased sources for the quote. It appears to come from an anti-Zionist book, and it's not corroborated anywhere. I bet it's made up.

The other quote is only found on far-left and pro-Palestinian websites (or in articles sympathetic to them) and seems to be made up.

Their Charter reads like something that Hitler would have wrote. I'm not joking. Quoting the Protocols and antisemitic conspiracy theories, and quoting genocidal Islamic hadiths as support for their position (the garqhad tree). Lots of quotations in it from Islamic sources that endorses fighting Jews. It sees the Arab-Israeli conflict as a conflict between the Jews and the Muslims, that the Muslims must win. It's a disgusting, racist document.

They're not much less savage towards their own people either. Think about what they do to people singing at weddings.

Incidentally, even in Gaza, a lot of people (who aren't supporters of Israel, before you ask) don't like living under Hamas because they find them to be totalitarians but they mostly don't say so out loud for obvious reasons due to the brutality of their rule.

A member of Hamas would not know a human right if it bit him in the ass.

By Western Standards the folks in Hamas are savages and barbarians.

Bill Whittle is not someone I generally agree with but I can respect how he crafts his arguments.

Not at all. I was AFK most of yesterday. It may surprise you to learn but i have things to do other than play whack-a-mole with libertarian, reactionary and zionist hawks, subscribers and acquiescers.

As for the video, theres a lot of untruth there. But the fact is that the palestinians are people, and they are being denied their right to self-determination on a fraction of the land they once inhabited, while israeli citizens have have full rights in Israel "proper" and rights on land internationally recognised as Palestinian. The Israeli Jews (not arabs or any other group) have, with the sanction of their allies, awarded themselves the right to seize Palestinian land and attack them with the defence of the israeli security apparatus. Nothing in that video changes that. Not only that, injured Palestinians have to drive several hours to recieve hospital help and are routinely stopped by military checkpoints, left to bled to death, forced to give birth without treatment and even brutalised or shot dead. Human rights abuses cannot be justified by claiming that Palestinians are "not a nation." Plenty of oppressed people are not a nation, including the Jews throughout history. The argument that Palestinians have resisted peace offers makes selective historical assertions (pretending that Palestinian aggression is without provocation) and illigetimising Palestinian efforts to resist normalisation and the Israel-ification of traditionally arab land.

This picture was taken yesterday. Israeli diggers are destroying apartments in Beit Hanina owned by and housing 20 Palestinian families and individuals. This sort of thing strengthens the political stranglehold of people like Hamas and makes peace even more unlikely.

Ah the tired method of distracting from the Israel-Palestine debate to create a broader and intellectually dishonest anti-Islam narrative.

How predicatable.

If you want to post one-off pictures for shock value and/or political points, 2 can play at that game. At least I will make mine relevant to the debate.

I'm sorry your logic is faulty. Simply because you don't agree with, or appreciate the soundness of the speech figurative doesn't infer childishness or lack of maturity. It does however indict the other party of pomposity and false grandeur of their opinion.

Nonsense, the world is not reducible to an axiom. I hate the fact homeless people can exist at all, I would much rather everyone had a house and lived a nice life. The ideology you are putting forward, is utterly simplistic. Your views lead you to say nice things about bad people. Israel exists, it is not going anywhere. Palestinians exist, they are not going anywhere both need to live together and making the cases that you have been do not help matters, one bit. So yes, I am dismissive of you. The position you have put forward peg you into the corner that I have no respect for. I have seen what simplistic ideology does to people I have also seen contrarians become useful idiots for truly awful tyrants. I just have no time for someone who no matter what numbers they put into the equation come up with the same answer. Its not the sign of a smart idea, its the sign of a broken calculator.
