God, if he/she/it exists has f*cked up at least twice that I know of, both times in Genesis. God supposedly created the tree of knowledge, then told Adam and Eve not to eat from it. Then the serpent tempted Eve. Who created the serpent? God, because god created everything. So therefore, god created evil as well. if he was all knowing, he i) wouldn't have created the serpent to tempt Adam and Eve, and ii) wouldn't have created the tree of knowledge either. Not so smart afterall. Oh, and by the way, the evil is still pointed out with the bet God and Satan had over Job, and all the bad things God did to him to prove a point. But seeing as it's all folklore and campfire legend anyway, it's all moot.

A more important question is, which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Whoa, so man's laws of logic bind God?
I can't accept this. I know that you think
that you can speak for the perfection here,
but I tell you, that than which nothing greater
can be thought can indeed do the impossible.

Even if you deny it.

Johnny: I think this statement covers the bit on whether god could lie or not.

God created humanity in his/her (hermaphroditic?) image, and man can say, 'Everything I have said is a lie.... including that'. Therefore, that would mean man is telling the truth, but it also implies that the lie can be told, and wiped out by a double negative. So god can also change the past by using double negatives to wipe out inaccuracies. So your god is either a very good practitioner of legerdemain, or not as perfect as you would have us believe.

Oh.... :) ...so now we exclude all opinions except of those that are christians :D

The answer is "yes" but not because of weight. It could be a pebble even, as long as God said He wouldn't lift it, He can't. God doesn't lie so if He, so if He said that He wouldn't do something, then He can't.

Look in Genesis chapter one then, "And God said... and it was so."

Being an atheist I don't care. It is not within the realms of the possible, so how can I argue it is possible. If you think of the impossible as possible it is neither possible or impossible. It is without meaning.

He said he created a weight that he can't lift? Then you should believe him then :D

Really this is in the realms of perpetual motion. The bible is not a source of energy unless you burn it or something and

Or is the information contained in a bible is enough to enable it to spin on its own axis?

Birds were made on the 5th day, so the chicken came first BIBLICALLY.

Just to entertain this one for s---s and giggles, I'd say no. He supposedly is all matter, he'd be condensing a great deal of himself as that rock, a rock of intended size would probably destroy all of creation just because the sheer mass would cause enough gravity to make the universe implode (if it didn't just devolve into a black whole).

So the questions you have are:

What is the limit of the size of solid mass in the universe? We see this one with planets

Do you want to remove that limit just for kicks being this is God?

If he is all matter why not just make all of creation into one big rock, is that saying he couldn't lift himself and if we were going to test that lift what would be left to reference it against? Lift himself off of what? He's wrapped himself up in one big rock, we don't exist because we and everyone else got absorbed into it, nothing aside from the rock exists, and yeah - it is in the end kind of like the tree in the woods question: If God wrapped himself into one big rock and there was nothing left to watch could he lift himself in a space that has no markers left? At that point it gets to be more of a Cheech and Chong type of philosophical problem - maybe I should smoke a few bowls and get back to ya to see if I'm still saying yes ;).

You're assuming man made up logic. I would assert rather that the laws of logic were always there, part of the framework that makes up the universe; it's just one more thing man has discovered.

Theoretically yes... but the gravitational pull would be so great on the rock itself... it would become a black hole instantly...

Stephen Hawking is the man...

In that case such rock would destroy the whole universe, like a reversed big bang? well I don't know about physics, I suppose something like that would happen that if we can speculate that the power of such rock is infinite.
or
maybe that could serve to help the creation and control of stable wormholes?

That is incorrect, Jesus is the only member of the Trinity who has any part of the matter of this universe.

But if you believe in other realms, wouldn't that mean that things don't function as the same way as in our three dimensional world? That wouldn't sound that ridiculous actually, to say that in the spiritual realm you could find impossible figures everywhere. Sounds interesting actually.
