And you're saying they are the majority?

I don't know about the majority, as many conservatives would be labelled "poor white trash" by these heartless types, but they have certainly reached positions of power and influence in the conservative movement. After all, Ted Cruz considers his shining moment to have been arguing against aid for poor Texas children.

In what form was this aid he denied them?

Was it really aid for the poor or just another pork barrel project under the pretense of aid for the poor that gives the pool little to nothing while the rest disappears into other pockets?

Whenever the left screeches something along the lines of "Think of the children!! !" I'm always skeptical.

The conservatives in Britain like to see people getting poor and desperate, it is the only way they can feel more powerful. They are rich bullies.

You'd think it would be electoral suicide, but it probably isn't. Only in the UK...

As I understand it, his "shining moment" amounted to his attempt to shut down the government - a great big failure.
And why are you skeptical about feeding children? Admittedly, there have been attempts by callous politicians to use government care for the needy to their own ends - James Watts of Reagan era fame comes to mind - but to dismiss every such program as having an ulterior motive smacks of using the subject as a pretext to deny help to needy children all together.

Well, unfortunately, we're not exactly swimming in options. Especially as our stupid electoral system really only allows for the three big parties to be in with a chance, and even then, Lib Dems are a long shot, and even then, that's only if next time, their leader doesn't turn out to be a filthy damn traitor.

Where did I dismiss every program?
I clearly said:

I didnt say ever program.
Any skepticism I have is based on:

Weak.
Never apologize when you can have the satisfaction of calling me a douchebag or a troll.
Me being only a conservative, you surely won't get a TOS because conservatives deserve whatever they get.
:P

Welfare reforms are directly responsible for the reductions in the standard of living that's ongoing in Britain and this is overwhelmingly for working people. When survival is put back into play, as Cameron and IDS has done, this means people are not free. They are much easier to exploit, and that's what we're seeing. Masses of people are being conscripted for forced labour, replacing people who before were paid full wages, now they're in forced labour as part of "welfare reform".
