Thank you, Kazma.
I'm not an exception to the rule, though. I'm a pretty normal feminist for my generation. We don't want men to pay for our dates, we don't want to sit at home and eat bonbons while our husbands work, and we don't want to be treated like fragile flowers who can't handle being treated like adults. We see that the current system negatively impacts our brothers as well as ourselves, though *not* as badly as it impacted our fathers, mothers, and grandparents.

Feminism isn't pseudoscience, since it never claimed to be science at all. It's a branch of the humanities.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humanities

Quote:
The humanities are academic disciplines that study human culture, using methods that are primarily critical, or speculative, and have a significant historical element—as distinguished from the mainly empirical approaches of the natural sciences. The humanities include ancient and modern languages, literature, philosophy, religion, and visual and performing arts such as music and theatre. The humanities that are also sometimes regarded as social sciences include history, anthropology, area studies, communication studies, cultural studies, law and linguistics.

Probably Feminism could be more accurately characterized as a pseudo-branch of the pseudo-humanities.

The FB page of the Amazing Atheist seems a lot more tame and refined than his YouTube account. His channel on YouTube is too filled with profanity. I couldn't get beyond 2-3 videos. I would really like to believe that "believers" are more conscious about their vocabulary but have found that to not be particularly true. Somehow, the introduction of profanity into philosophical or political discourse, IMO, destroys the credibility of any perspective. I don't know whey people feel the need to express their passions by using expletives, but it seems the more "educated" people become the more they have to rely on profanity to express their opinions or ideology. I think it is a weakness and they use it to drive people away rather than engage in civilized discourse. And as soon as someone leaves the conversation because it has gotten too vile and disgusting, the persons using profanity as a tool always want to proclaim themselves the winner of the debate ( I dislike the term debate), but I think people who enjoy debating think that it implies some kind of intellectual status. Usually who enjoy using words as weapons instead of art.

Will somebody tell AA that growing his hair into giant "bangs" does not make up for the rapid retreat of his hairline?

About 40 seconds in - "whiny, self-obsessed". Says the man who considers himself 'amazing' and has 757 videos - that's 757 - in which he tries to make some radical thing of thinking that religions are stoooopid and feminists are stooooopid and how brilliant and clever the Amazing Atheist is and how hard done by he is is that he has to share the planet with these people.

Oh, and another 'logic' fan. The man-child wouldn't know logic if it pissed on his cornflakes.
