Why Whites Support Capital Punishment

I don't believe in capital punishment and I'm white.

I think it's barbaric. Just think about what must be going on in the mind of an executioner. It's a frightening thought to think that someone could do such a thing out of self-righteousness and still be able to sleep at night.

Prison is bad enough. Killing people out of self-righteousness or revenge is uncivilized and just plain wrong. I hope that America and other countries will do away with it in the future. Death penalty is a failed experiment that doesn't work.

And, by the way, I don't think this is race-baiting.

It is a fact that minorities are punished more harshly by the judicial system, at least in America. So it's understandable that whites may be oblivious to this fact. They might simply think that every person who gets the death penalty "deserves" it when in reality, innocent people get sent to death row a significant amount of the time.
