.......is this guy serious? I'm actuallly a little worried that he might be....

I am serious that stoning those who are involved with the occult is found in the Scriptures. I get the impression that you think I want to run around killing Wiccans or something. That is not the case. I think the First Ammendment provides a way for all to practice their religons as long as nobody harms anybody else.

While I do *NOT* agree with the manner in which this site goes about things, they have a lot of information about biblical translations. It *IS* a VERY VERY VERY serious site, if you aren't ready to be offended, do not go here.

They vehemotly object to all new translations of the bible and say the king james version (The original one) is the only good one.

I personally, if I had to pick, would use a computer to find and replace all thous with yous and wilsts with will etc etc..

Though the NIV is a scary translation, I'll give you that. They're making a gender neutral. I.E.

He loved his siblings or something of the such, it MAY even be "It loved it's siblings" etc etc.

That's the bloody point! The King James Bible was deliberately mistranslated from the original Latin to satisfy the personal peccadilloes of one man. To try to argue that the King James bible is the "true" Bible does the seemingly impossible and discredit Christianity even further.....



Well, on the basis that you can find quotes to prove anything you want to in the Bible (e.g. Ku Klux Klan, South African Dutch Reform Church etc.) I have absolute confidence that you could find some passages or other in that piece of garbage to prove that (especially in the deliberately mistransalated bits...... )

I make a point of never reading links that people post as arguments to defend their debating positions as I find doing so a distasteful and lowly cop-out tactic in the extreme that always instantly negates the worth of any position they may have and discounts them from the argument - I always use my own mind to produce my own thoughts and opinions, and don't need to hide behind the writings of others to hide my debating inadequacies (mainly because I have none ) and to come up with my opinions for me (a BIG reason why I'm no Christian....). I may make an exception in this case later this evening though...... Know your enemy and all that......

The website that was earlie refered to is a CESSPOOL OF HERESY! They claim in more places than one that the Pope is the antiChrist. They show him on a bed with an invertes cross for a headboard, clearly an altered photo. Then they go on to bash Mary and the Eucharist. They call the church a whore and claim that Catholics are not christians.

Ok. Why would fellow Christians bash their own? I believe in CHRIST, I dont know who they believe in but I KNOW That Jesus would not bash his people

I use a Jewish Bible based on the Masoretic Texts...and that's just the English one, I also have one in the original Hebrew...of course, my mom makes me read both.

Don't worry Dunc. Landover Baptist is run by Atheists. It is satire. If you watch a certain video on that site you will see that the site's 'pastor' 'perached' at an Atheist convention. Also, the site's shop sells anti-Born Again Christian and anti-Republican merchandise.
