Did the 9/11 truth movement really die?
Yes, just like the crying and whining from the left about the war in Iraq petered out once George W left and their man stepped in. All the sudden the war wasn't so awful and the welfare of the troops not so critical. It's really all just a matter of which side of the bread the butter is on....
As I've addressed this particular charge previously - - it was commonly accepted among Obama's friends and enemies that he was planning to withdraw from the war. The answer is simple.
You're telling me they're so ignorant and gullible they believed a campaign promise at face value. It may have (eventually) panned out this time but I hardly think that was the reason. They haven't howled about Afghanistan as much, either, and that's lasted a lot longer. Nothing his majesty has stuck his nose into military has brought much if anything in the way of objection from the left.

Considering the level of credibility Bush had had when he left office, yes.

That's obviously government-planted propaganda, and you're dumb for questioning the pro-truther's logic (which they don't have time to watch or otherwise address).
And where exactly did I saw it was a controlled demolition? Personally I dont give a sht if it was a wasnt as its pretty insignificant to the entire narrative. The entire collapse issues is the real straw man and any one who focuses on that is the one not looking at the more serious issues.
If you decide to stop wasting time with this and start focusing on things that we know are happening, you might want to look into this:

The sad truth is that time is the enemy.
Did you know that the USA provoked the attack on Pearl Harbor? We did.
We made an ultimatum to the Emperor of Japan that anyone knowledgeable in Japanese culture (back then) could see was a challenge. The Emperor had to respond with force or lose face. A violent response was all but inevitable.
The average American would never have seen this, but the people who understood the culture did.
Likewise, we knew of the attack before it happened, and we ordered the bulk of the fleet out of Pearl Harbor to ensure we had enough left to fight, but enough left behind for a nice "body count."
The powers that be wanted the USA in a war with Japan...they got it.
This "truth" was known then, but covered up. We know it now because the records have become declassified.
How often is this reality in our textbooks? Never.
9/11 had a lot of stuff going on that blatantly contradicts the official story. It's 13 years later, and the official story is getting more and more cemented into place. Few really take the contradictions as reason to be outraged at how the government story is more fiction than fact. They are content to go on with their daily lives and not think of all the freedoms that have been affected, the money spend on pointless wars, the criminal acts (physical and economic) that went on that day which have never been investigated.

Japan had invaded China earlier, and had been committing horrible atrocities. There was a genuine reason for bad relations with Japan. And nothing justified such a horrendous loss of life as seen at Pearl Harbor.

I watched the buildings go down on TV.
I watched as a huge explosion occurred just before one tower went down.
The explosion blew out all the windows I could see on one floor of the building I was watching.
Immediately AFTER the explosion the floor ABOVE the blown out floor began to descend.
The whole lie includes too many impossibilities, and this is why so many engineers and scientists oppose the official view.
Was bush & co involved?
Citation. Needed.
The "explosion" you saw before the entire thing collapsed was the damaged, burning segment of the building being quickly compressed by the segment above it. Imagine a large cement block covered in burning liquid fuel. Now drop another cement block directly on top of it. The flames will shoot out of the sides as the burning fuel is instantly displaced. The initial impact and the jet fuel was more than enough to destroy the load bearing capability of the tower's upper portion.

And the windows being blown out also has to do with the pressure inside. I've seen it happen when I saw a burning building, on one floor all the windows were blown out without the building collapsing.

True, but did that building have a passenger jet flown into it carrying tons of jet fuel?
The birther movements are tied strongly to Obama and are very much confined to the US. I expect that they will be dead in 10 years time as by then they will largely be a historical curiousity. 9/11 was a defining moment in history that affects people to this day and will continue to affect them for decades to come. The 9/11 truth movement is global and probably has more people outside of the US than in the US.
I should probably add that I don't think it's inherently foolish to be skeptical about government pretexts for war. The real reasons seldom have much to do with what the government tells the public (e.g http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_fo ... an_century ). Not accepting the inside job hypothesis on the grounds of insufficient evidence does not mean that we should therefore automatically believe the official story. We only hear the truth out of government, corporations and the corporate media when it suits their self-serving agendas. I try not to accept anything they tell me, without thorough fact-checking first.

That's very much a straw man argument, Raptor. Most people who truly affiliate themselves with the left are fed up and annoyed with Obama's inaction on the on-going wars and failure to close Gitmo. Most of us don't think that Obama is anything close to the leftist your side wants him to be so badly. At the same time, regardless of what most neo-con and tea-party conservatives wish to believe, we are still a constitutional government that requires Congress to act, and when said congress refuses to do anything, so to diminish the efficacy and popularity of a president they despise, it's difficult to get much done.
hence the nasty gridlock, and the catalyst for our soon to be rapid decline.

Anyone think it's possible that you all are arguing about the wrong thing? It's really a huge stretch to say that the government planned the attack, but not so much to say that they knew about it and didn't act to prevent the tragedy that has emotionally scarred a country and led to so many horrible civil liberty infractions like domestic surveillance. There is plenty of evidence to support that assertion.
