I don't really think there needs to be more laws to prevent the seriously mentally ill from getting guns, it's not a pressing issue. Only but a microscopic fraction are dangerous to anyone besides themselves, probably a lower % than the general public. There are 7 billion people on this Earth, just because one guy does something doesn't mean you need to change our laws and surrender freedoms..

I'm done discussing guns on this forum. When someones mind is made up, facts won't change it. The whole issue with guns is a volatile one that never leads to a good and happy ending. I love my guns. I've owned and shot guns for decades. I break no laws with them, I use them to obtain food for the table, I carry them when out fishing and other activities for self defense when I feel I should because I feel I have no moral right to ask someone else to put themselves in harms way to protect me and mine in an emergency.....I would be a sh***y human being for doing so and I would be a sh***y father and husband if I had no tool to protect my family in our home. It is the very essence of human beginnings that spawned our basic "fight/flight" instincts that define us as living creatures....god forbid we become totally domesticated, frail and weak. We would be setting ourselves up to fail as a species. I will be god damned if I am going to sit here and take instruction on how to live from others across oceans and worse here on US soil. I don't instruct others on how to live and I'll be damned if I will take the same abuse from others. I am an aspie. That does not make me mentally ill. I am still competent enough in my mind to be safe with a gun...perhaps even safer than some NT's. I told my kids once, that if I can't trust them with a gun, I can't trust them driving a car or many other of the many daily human activities that can and are dangerous.

Allow a gun store and it's employees to go through an individual's mental health record?
Are you sure that's a good idea? Spread any and all word about you, whether relevant or not, to your neighbors, friends, relatives, bosses ???

How about spy cameras in our bathrooms?

In fairness, in this case I don't think that undermines the validity of the conclusions Viper and YouGov reached. Landline users are older. Older people are generally more likely to be content with the status quo. The other major difference with landline users is that they are less likely to be Hispanic. Again, prima facie, I think this would make them less likely to support gun control.

I'm not sure whether restricting those with "mental illness" is a good idea. Are depressed people more violent than the mentally healthy?

/\ A more plausible scenario is we experience at least a temporary but comprehensive breakdown of society and suspension of services and the protectionists receive a rude wakeup call. That's when they suddenly want to befriend the gun nuts who will probably just laugh at them for a change.

And I had thought, someone truly believing and argumenting about zombie apocalypses, would show obvious sign of crazy paranoia. ^^

I bought a airsoft p90 for being a fan of the show. It was kinda comfortable, but the magazines were so long it makes it hard to put them anywhere. the rl round kind sucks for anything. I traded the gun and wouldn't want to buy a real one unless It was automatic and I could afford to run it. I would love to shoot a p90 missed my chance this year, but maybe next year i'll have enough money to go to the full auto shoot.
