Even if he does get elected, and I'm not saying that he will, it will be to the Oklahoma STATE house of representatives, not the US house of representatives. His votes and actions will only influence Oklahoma and I'm just guessing Oklahoma isn't particularly gay friendly in the first place. If he's lucky enough to get elected to the Oklahoma house of representatives I can't see him ever being elected to any office in DC.

"Oh, but Raptor; it's just so chilling that someone would actually say what he did or even think it!!"
Someone in your own home town has most likely (more like absolutely has in so many words) said what he said, just not so publicly. This is 2014 and gay is in, like it or not, so it doesn't really matter what anyone says anymore. The train has already left the station......

Gay is in? Meaning.....?

Do you really need to have it explained it to you?
Meaning we're at the point where it's no longer the taboo issue it was. When a local bar here suddenly became officially a gay bar and the owner was asked why the change, his answer was simply; "Because gay is IN". Business picked up after that.

Actually it's NOT surprising at all that he would put that all over his Facebook, Raptor, because he's a moron and they are a dime a dozen around here. It's neither surprising or shocking. Just dumb. But what can you do?

I do not think highly of that line of reasoning anyway. People are getting too crazy. The Zeitgeist is indeed an insane one at the moment. People in this state are talking about executing in front of firing squads since they can't even manage to execute someone with heart stopping drugs. It's too complicated for them so they must try something they can all comprehend considering people's well renown, limited access to quality education. They can't even get that right so what is the solution to them? To be even more blood thirsty and rabid about the mistake. They are taking a thousand steps backward right now and getting darker and darker minded by the month.

All that seems to be on their minds is revenge, blood lust, violence, killing and death. It's a dangerous thing.

So homosexuality is generally accepted now, basically. I was questioning your use of the word 'in', Implying that it's cool to be gay so everyone's jumping on the bandwagon...

Really? If he's duly elected and represents the interests of his constituents he does belong, as even people with unpopular beliefs get representation.

They probably botched the lethal injection one or two times which might be traced back to improperly executed technique. There's probably no need to change the method, just revisit the current one brush up on the technique of delivery. Failing that, firing squads will work just fine but there's still technique to adhere to just the same. Old isn't necessarily bad or ineffective. No matter how it's done, it's still killing someone so there's not much point in trying too hard to make it tidy.

It'll run its course and pass, probably with little to no innocent bloodshed.

Until you people actually live here you have no experience and you do not know. So, since I do live here and I do know I can tell you we don't need any more of this there's enough of them already and they do nothing for anyone except sit there, take money and waste time. Who cares what their personal opinions are? What's this guy gonna do if he gets elected? He's gonna whine and cry over every little thing, act like an infantile brat that's not getting his way wah wah. This entire country is going to hell at the moment because this is the Zeitgeist. Negativity, whining, crying, doing NOTHING, blaming everyone else for every problem in existence, advocating brutal violence toward others, instant gratification, failure to demonstrate any wisdom whatsoever, and not understanding the democratic process, as in, one man gets elected, stays in office for his term then goes away.

It is a dark age indeed.

One way of looking at it is:

You fail because you are too delusional and negative.

Close enough.

I can see what you're fishing for and you might observe that I'm what you could call grudgingly indifferent to homosexuality. I used to be a vehemently opposed to it but that has become pointless and counterproductive at this point in history. It won't likely get any better than that from me, either.

I can't tell who this little tirade is aimed at but I'll take a bite, anyway.
My advice: Take a trip out of Oklahoma, either east or west a few hundred miles or so where it is more progressive, and see what it's like and know that Oklahoma will catch up to it sooner or later, for better or worse. Rest assured that the locals around where you live can't stop what's coming.....

Who has not yet figured out that the Tea Party is nothing but a community of trolls? They will say the most ignorant, stupid, outrageous crap possible to get attention. The very few valid ideas they have are completely discredited by the other 98% of the garbage that they spew just to get attention

I have driven to other states and I can tell you without hesitation the infrastructure in the ones I drove through are a lot better than Oklahoma, the exception being Texas. Oklahoma will never be like California or New York because the constitution will not allow it and that's what a lot of this is about. The state constitution causes this state to be impoverished and grow at a slower rate because it cannot accrue any debt whatsoever and most people understand you need some debt to create wealth. Without it, growth is much slower and painstaking. Oklahoma has to grapple with this reality because it is written in the constitution, the budget must be balanced so it just doesn't grow much. That's the result. A lot of people leave it and go elsewhere, to states that allow for more growth. In other words, no opportunity. A lot of the people who live here are just jealous of the states that don't have this written into their constitution. Sometimes they can go overboard and get into trouble. With some oversight and proper management by people who actually know what they are doing, debt can create a lot more wealth than what would exist without it.

So the people are the ones who suffer in many ways. Bottom of the list statistically in nearly every category and it's slowly being consumed by Mexican drug cartel members who are using it to launder money, buy politicians and turning the cities into bloodbaths.

I live in the same town as Scott Esk and a major problem is many are very proud of being incredibly ignorant and backward. It's their rallying cry. They take pride in everything that's a step backward. Not all but too many do.

What OK needs more than anything else is a better public education system and any politician that's worth a dime would make that a number one priority. Scott Esk would put it last on his list. His entire agenda would revolve around typical useless Tea Party paranoia and ideas way too extreme and ridiculous to ever go anywhere so he would whine about it, rebel and do nothing. In other words, more useless, worthless politicians who might as well not even get paid because they don't do anything.

Most would call it an improvement....
