WHAT IS A NEOCONSERVATIVE?



Yep. I don't listen to him. I listen to Dennis Prager and sometimes Michael Medved.

Many Democrats in congress want to bring back the "Fairness Doctrine." This is just like the way Democrats want to bring fairness to unions by taking away their right to secret elections. Basically, Democrats are angry with the market. Conservatives opinion (not really Republicans necessarily, Michael Savage, who I dislike very much, blasts the President daily*) dominate the radio airwaves. Liberals have tried and failed repeatedly to duplicate their success mostly because they aren't duplicating it. Republicans make the same mistakes when trying to get into mostly left-wing Hollywood. You can't just jump into a industry without any experience.

*This is not why I don't like him.

Ann Coulter is about as close to polar opposite to me you can get, but I have to agree with her that Democrats use people who others can't attack to further an agenda.

Again, how does it "harm" Christians exactly, for others to not believe as they do? So long as people follow the law, does it matter what sort of God or gods they worship... or even if they worship any at all?



I've seen the pattern quite often.... usually a given religious organization (Campus Crusade for Christ, for instance) gets overzealous. The other students complain. Then, said overzealous organization is reminded that it's not just Christians who have constitutional rights. Then, said Christians whine that they're being persecuted, because they aren't being allowed to run roughshod over everyone else. heh.



When she is on the pundit circuit, which is fairly often (especially on places like Fox) she constantly harps on family values, and is an extremely bitter woman indeed.

I am not sure what this is intended to mean. Moderate Christian (and conservative groups) on campus are generally not granted nearly the funding that left-wing grounds get. In many cases, there funding or permission to organization is pulled by hostile campus administrators. Demands are sometimes placed on Christians and conservatives that are not placed on liberals and say, Muslims (such as accepting non-Christians, and left-wingers into the organization who intend to disrupt proceedings.)



I don't know. I don't watch Fox News very much. Whether she is bitter is a personal characteristic and I do not feel it is fair for me to comment on. I mean I wouldn't call Al Franken bitter. It wouldn't be right.

Again, I do not speculate about people's private affairs. Apparently, it is "OK" to do so about those in the political opposition you don't like. In all honestly, I think it is easier for those who don't know how do defeat their opposition on a intellectual level to attempting to speculate onn their psychologically. It avoids the need for a real debate (an example on the right of this is Michael Savage).

From what I have seen, western theology largely creates people who crow about the good things they do to get social approval, and frantically conceal evidence of the bad things they do in order to not be deprived of same. *shrugs*



I have yet to be accosted by atheists or pagan groups demanding that I believe as they do, on any college campus. I regret to say that I have been treated that way by on-campus Christian groups, on multiple occasions. What does this sort of behavior create, but anger and tension where none existed before? If they cannot behave in a considerate manner, then frankly the administration should tell them to cool it. One enrolls at a university to learn more of science, music, history, mathematics, literature, etc. not to get practice in placating irrational individuals who apparently cannot control themselves in public.



My point (which you are steadfastly avoiding) is this... if she cannot behave according to family values herself, her self-righteousness and shrewish crowing about family values is hypocritical at best. Speaking as someone who is female herself, for a middle-aged woman to have never had even a steady boyfriend (let alone a husband or children) at any point in her life is extremely odd.

If she was a happily married middle-aged woman with a couple of kids, I would consider her far more qualified to speak on such matters. Her apparent aversion to practicing what she preaches casts her qualifications in serious doubt, not to mention her overall message. If she thinks it is so good, then why has she steadfastly avoided even the prelude to the condition (steady heterosexual dating), for decades now?

How anyone could believe that the republicans don't rob from the poor to give to the rich is beyond me. It's beyond the data as well... and yet you hold to it with all the zealousness of a crusader.

I know it's beyond you because you have been totally brainwashed. Your only argument about what Coulter says is she isn't married so her opinion is null & void. The woman isn't dead and can plainly see what is going on in society exspecially sinse she has the time to observe what is going on instead of running aorund like the average nut job soccer mom with her head cut off.

Anne Coulter reminds me of Laura Ingram or Ken Medvid (?) and yeah, its not that they don't know what they're talking about but their style just really annoys me. To tell the truth though, Anne isn't as bad as the other two - she will get logical rather than just cracking jokes on the other side, but the touble is cracking jokes on the other side isn't communication, it just makes animosity and even if someone's completely correct on things in their viewpoints its tough to sell people on something when your inflaming em. IMO if anyone wants to listen to some good conservative voices it'd be Dennis Prager (he's extremely logical, very scientific in how he thinks) and Tammy Bruce (she was a born again conservative, was a hard leftist originally part of which was probably her sexual orientation causing peer pressure from her social venue. When I saw her on TV giving a speech at Florida she does a really good job of breaking down and explaining how the social rules of politics are and what's so wrong with our society as it is right now, how people are in social lockstep rather than thinking all too often, and she talks about breaking away and freeing your mind and your thoughts from group control - its so refreshing to hear because its so on-point and yet so rare to catch on TV, the radio, or anywhere for that matter).
