the christian entity holds more political influence than you give credit. just...people are starting to fight back within the last 30 or so years.
What is "the Christian entity?" Please be specific.
the influence of christian citizens who belong to various sects of christianity who seek to employ their god into government. like the faith-based initiatives of george w bush or the prohibition of the 1930s. or the decision to put "in god we trust" first on coins in the 1860s or when we later added "under God" to the pledge of allegiance in the 1950s because we were a christian nation as opposed to russia's atheist communist nation.
the original motto of the US was supposed to be "e pluribus unum" or "one for the many" and it has since become "one nation under God."
there is quite the christian entity but there are people now fighting back against the melding of church and state. it's very evident and it is very ending.
"History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes" - Thomas Jefferson in a letter to von Humboldt, 1813.
