In terms of people I'd try to affect by meeting them would be Stonewall Jackson simply so I could say "Dude don't go scouting you WILL get shot, die, and the war will be lost."

Or Thomas Jefferson and bring a shrink with me to figure out if he's aspie or not.

In terms of hanging out, it would be Peter the Great because that man's definition of a party was less fancy clothes and waltzes and more, "Let's get wasted on all the liquor in Moscow, ride a bear around town, and take a potshot at a noble or two."

My younger self. I've got a cheat sheet to deliver.
Before you point out you wrote historical figure, give it time

I think Peter Lalor, as I could give him a lot of modern guerrilla warfare tactics for dealing with those red coats a bit better.

Admittedly quite recent, but I'd like to meet Christopher Hitchens.

Thomas Edison

Reason: Many accounts have claimed that once he achieved fame through his inventions, he became an a-hole and claimed that Tesla stole his ideas, when in fact it may have been vice-versa.

I would travel back to the Paleolithic era and do it with Mitochondrial Eve, thereby fathering most of humanity. I hear she was a goddamn animal in the sack.

I would then go back to the present and strut around with the smuggest look ever on my face. I would ask random people "Hey, wanna know what your ancestor looked like?" I would then point to myself and say "Deal with it." 8)

Setting aside for the moment that Hitler was a murderous person who would have stripped me of my citizenship, rights, human rights, personhood, and thrown me in a death camp to die or had me executed in some pit in the woods, modern art critics tend to agree that as far as artistic skill went, Hitler was a rather good painter.

His rejection may really have just been a matter of many equally skilled applicants and not enough places.

Though what I don't understand is, isn't the point of art school to improve one's art skills? Why should applicants already be master artists?

Someone else would take their places most likely. Instead of Hitler and Stalin we'd be reading about Von Richthofen and Trotsky (or whoever).

And nothing of value was lost that day.
