Whether or not someone is personally offended has no bearing on a person's responsibility to be aware, within reason, of whether or not they are declaring baseless and insensitive statements. More pointedly: the simple fact that you have had a stereotype parroted at you doesn't entitle you to defame an entire group.
Btw, someone asked if C.S. Lewis was a minister. Yes, he was not only a noted apologist but a minister. Interestingly enough, J.R. Tolkien was also a minister, that's quite a resume between being a literature and language professor, a minister, a WWI veteran, and a famous author known to regularly correspond with C.S. Lewis. However, I doubt either of them was on the autism spectrum, I have never seen anything to indicate those symptoms.
