Okay, that is just crazy talk. One, in a normal marriage, you are not working for the other person. Two, feminism by definition is wanting the equal treatment and rights for women alongside men. Three, are you a misogynist?

I'm being completely serious when I ask you this, as you never have ANYTHING positive to say about women. I pray that no woman has the fortune of being with you and discovering these posts later. Good day.

Marriage is whatever you want it to be. It can be slavery and business or it can be equality and love. I hate traditional anything these days, I'm sick of mainstream American culture.

Common law marriage is still around I believe, my parents got married by a judge in a courtroom, not a priest in a church. I'd probably get married in a courtroom as well, if I ever went for any kind of official route, which I don't really care for.

I think both genders are guilty of this. It is the way of humans to be drawn to the useful and discard what is not.
As for men blindly protecting women - mythology ... men of this generation are quite happy to let women fend for themselves.

To give Orangez the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure that what he meant is "the more primitive parts of women's brains", and not that women have brains like lizards.
I'm sure he's also aware that men have primitive instincts too.

He did say too "I wish that humanity would reject their lizard brains", so I really don't think he was implying what you inferred.

"Lizard brain" is a fairly common term for referring to unconscious instincts and the adrenal system, e.g. 'I didn't even think to jump out of the way of that car, my lizard brain just took over'.

'Traditional marriage' really no longer exists in America as it was throughout the previous decades.

Divorce is much, much easier, many states are 'no fault' which means even splitting of assets, and child custody and visitation is court-mandated.

No-one gets taken to the cleaners anymore, and anyone, of either gender, who marries someone of much less financial worth knows to get a pre-nup.

If a marriage becomes abusive in any way, for either party, divorce is always an option.

That is not slavery.
