if i where going to id do something that would show sheer willpower to go through with it, like stop drinking .... just something slow and deliberate, preferably that left your organs good to transplant

*Go in a tank of oxygen displacing gas that ISN'T CO2. The human body can only detect CO2, it can't detect other gases, not even oxygen. So as long as it isn't CO2 you suffocate, unknowingly, just as if you were going to sleep.

*Pull something that looks like a gun to a cop so they shoot you.

Paraffin in the mouth...and inhale deeply. Paralyses the lungs, apparently. Not tested it out yet though :D

Eat dozens and dozens of large cans of baked beans until your stomach ruptures.

Oooo. That does sound like a painless way to do it.

i'd guess that an overdose of heroin is quite an enjoyable way to die.

*sigh*

Well, so much for the PHILOSOPHY of suicide.....

The most efficient and painless way to kill yourself is a bullet through the head, shot between the eyes.

Jump off a very high suspension bridge such as the Golden Gate Bridge (painlessness is not guaranteed in this scenario though). Landing in the water at that height is like landing on a slab of concrete.

Lethal Injection uses some drug with a high Potassium Chloride content to stop the heart.

Leaving the car engine on in a garage cause carbon monoxide inside a building to rise to dangerous levels. When this happens, the first thing you will notice is that you are feeling very sleepy. Carbon Monoxide has no smell.

The disclamer is not responsible for any deaths that may result from this list.

Dying while protecting the ones you love would be an honorable way. Personally, I think it would be cool to die while on a roller coaster, or during the apocalypse. At least then everyone is going down with you.

There are? I've pondered this, myself, in meditation but I never tried to actually do it. Why would one do this, out of curiousity?

honor is an illusion created by the brain....it doesn't exist.

hence....there is no honorable way to die.

no matter how you die, you'll more than likely still end up evacuating your bowels....aka, crapping all over yourself. and dying crapping yourself is not especially honorable....it's just inevitable.

Is it? Good will... is that an illusion? Is "being good" an illusion, and if so, can I start being bad?

I prefer the long and drawn out torture method where you flounder through life for some 70-80 odd years doing what ever until you die of a stroke/heart attack/ cancer/ random accident or act of violence(the suspense of uncertainty is the most torturous part) ;-)

Why? Presumably it's not painful. Plus, one can have nice pure thoughts as they pull it off.

Meh, to me a death is a death. The best way to die in my mind is the one that leaves the least mess and causes one the least personal pain.

I would like to add to that, the least disruption and pain to loved ones left behind, so if its going to make a mess, don't do it at home, if you live with family, remember, they have to live there after that.

Also, swallowing pills is the most painful way to go apparently, so don't do it.

I think the best way is to join the old Euthanasia Society now called Veritas and get a Living Will done so that if things get that bad, you get it all done neatly, cleanly and hopefully with backing from family.
