Hey, anti-gunners, 'Bush's Brain' agrees with you!
So how do you go about getting rid of all the guns?
Be specific please.
See, that's the thing, Raptor! I never typed *** I *** wanted to go and round up all the guns. I didn't type the government should, either. What I typed is based in pure logic and nothing else. It concerns guns and gun violence, not violence from other sources.
I fail to see the "logic" in even the notion that all the guns could somehow be removed.

Well...it wouldn't work without seriously damaging a chunk of the economy so you don't need to worry.
You see, if someone as far to the Right as Mr. Rove can eventually see the light, then there is hope for all who believe in this non-existent 'right to bear arms'. Yes, get rid of the silly Second Amendment, you will be thankful afterwards.
Hell yeah!
Let's just do away with the whole constitution. Why let those pesky human rights get in the way?

No, the others you should keep, because they actually make sense. You class being authorised to carry a gun as a 'human right' (ex. like the right to clean air, freedom of conscience and belief, freedom of speech etc.)?

So let me get this straight - you believe that if the Second Amendment is done away with, concentration camps will inevitably follow (eventually). I'm sorry, but this is not logical, it is a non sequitur, the 'slippery slope' fallacy. Other countries - like France, Denmark, Austria, New Zealand, Canada, Japan and so on - are free, have elections, free speech, a constitution, and so on, and yet their citizens do NOT have the 'right' to bear arms. Your hypothesis - you know, the one about concentration camps existing in the absence of an unarmed citizenry - has been falsified. Try better next time.
There are no "anti-gunners" in the US. At least I've never encountered one.
Everybody on the "anti" side of the gun issue is an adamant statist of some sort or another. That means he favors a large, heavily-armed paramilitary police force, legally authorized to kick down doors and search every inch of any dwelling where firearms might be concealed. (Which means: every dwelling.) Those police won't just be carrying nightsticks and tasers, they'll have guns. Lots and lots of guns.
The American leftist might personally find firearms scary and icky and won't want to touch them himself. But as a concept he LOVES guns; all his political dreams depend on the State's agents having guns. He just doesn't want private citizens to have them.

pro gun
and it wasn't all at once, it was slow, first it was guns are dangerous so you need to register them then it was they so dangerous we need to take them away from you.

Hi. I'm a lefty. I already ordered my Bernie Sanders for President stickers. I think Obama is center-right, and Hillary is further to the right than Obama. I like Obama, mostly, but he has been a big disappointment in some ways.
I find the 2nd amendment worship distasteful when the worshipers won't cop to it being about the possible necessity of the violent overthrow of the federal government. Which wouldn't really pan out, since i haven't come across a jurisdiction where the 2nd amendment is considered to cover ordnance.
I don't care about people who just need accessories to enlarge their ego. I do sometimes wish they had some sense of responsibility, like a reasonable means of keeping guns out of the hands of unsupervised children and incompetent or psychotic adults. You know, people who's brains don't work right, and thus can't be expected to behave responsibly. There are so many other aspects of life where we are legally required to Be The Responsible Adult but apparently when it comes to a machine that can put big holes in things at a distance, that's sacrosanct.
I'm pretty much OK with hunting as long as you're not a dick about it. I don't feel a need to do it myself, but as a wise man once said, if you're slower than me, and dumber than me, and you taste good? pass the salt.
I'm pretty sure that hunting down big game just so you can say you did is kinda dickish, but i don't turn down an invitation to have some elk burgers. My brother once sent me some awesome whitetail deer jerky, but all we have out here is mule deer which is about as tasty as it sounds.
I went target shooting with my dad a bunch of times before grandma gave up the old house and some cousin got all of grampa's guns because mom didn't want any in the house. that was a bummer. But i haven't felt the need to buy some guns so i can go target shooting.
I was disappointed when cops confiscated my friend's grandfather's korean war service revolver just because they were first on the scene when he keeled over, found it in a desk drawer looking for next of kin info, and just decided to keep it because they didn't immediately see any documentation that it was legitimately owned. Some pig probably took it home as a prize.
I have no dreams of people rushing into your house to take your guns.
I do think that there should be some kind of chain of responsibility in gun transactions.
I support sensible, instant background checks in the same sense that the NRA used to.
And I'm pretty sure that trained health professionals should be required reporters when they honestly believe that someone probably shouldn't be buying any more guns, and it should be possible for another trained health professional to counter that assertion. With some modicum of accountability.
But, you'll have to same amount of violence overall.
That's not logic insofar as justice goes, that's just thinking one specific thing is icky and the problem, which is an emotion.
Yes.
Nearly everyone loves weapons when they're used by the people they approve; they'll cheer and march at the massacre of millions.
Whether you pick it up or your government does [for the same cause], it's the exact same thing.
Actually no, I don't like the idea that police carry guns. I don't like that the military produces weapons. One can state an opinion without having to show proof that a specific plan could be carried out that would definitely work 100%.
Less guns means less gun violence and in my opinion which I can't prove - less deadly violence.
My problem is more with the production of weapons than it is with the regulation of them. But some regulations are sensible in my opinion. Even most gun owners support some regulations. They just don't talk very loud.

"mommy what does a strawman look like?"
Yes.

Nearly everyone doesn't equate to everyone.
Though question: do you support police defending you from genuine criminals with a sidearm (say, someone is going to kill you and super trooper jumps in to save the day)? Do you support the military defending you from genuine threats?
If yes, you love weapons all the same; the difference being you have someone kill your food for you.

why make an argument when you can just allude to hitler! who needs cogent rational discussion anyway?
What I was replying to doesn't deserve any better of a response.
Yeah, I see him at the shooting range all the time.

Your hollow no right to bear arms argument doesn't warrant anything more than a quick off the cuff response. This forum has dozens of gunz-r-bad threads before your time so you can go back and read them and take your ass whuppin that way. We've had so many of your kind that I just about know what you're going to say next and have a response ready in advance.
Your kind has never brought anything valid to the table and you certainly won't be the one to break that perpetual dry spell.

1. It woul damage a lot more than just the economy.
2. I wasn't worried in the least.
