You have an interesting definition of "not an ass".

Quote:
"I Don't Think It's Hillary's Fault That Her Husband Had Serial Infidelities"
-Rand Paul, yesterday.

Also, there's that issue with him self certifying himself as an ophthalmologist while representing himself as "board certified".

And that serial plagerism/honesty problem of his:
Quote:
Over the last week, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has been accused of multiple counts of plagiarism -- both in speeches he gave and in a book he wrote.
The first accusations of plagiarism came from MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, who noted that Paul recounted the plot of the film "Gattaca" using the same verbiage used on the film's Wikipedia page.

Since then, there have been several other revelations.
1. BuzzFeed's Andrew Kaczynski reported that Paul had also lifted language from Wikipedia while discussing the movie "Stand and Deliver" in a June 2012 speech.
2. Politico's Alexander Burns reported that Paul, in a 2013 response to President Obama's State of the Union address, used language that was exactly the same as a 2011 Associated Press report. And in a speech at Howard University earlier this year, Paul used language similar to the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family while discussing vouchers.
3. Kazcynski reported Saturday that three pages of Paul's recently published book (more than 1,300 words) borrowed heavily from a 2003 study by the conservative Heritage Foundation, along with another example involving the Cato Institute.

I know, it's amazing how I view politicians that actually believe in the constitution and liberty as not being an ass. WOW, I mean who would of thought?

If like me and animals, you can tell a person by their face, I can assure you having known her since she was a researcher, her face matches her character.
She has guts, she is an ordinary person, not establishment, and some would even have her step into the leader of the Labour party shoes. :- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/meet-the-next-leader-of-the-labour-party-sorry-jeremy-corbyn/

Her voting record:- http://www.theyworkforyou.com/mp/24831/lisa_nandy/wigan/votes

This Woman is genuine, she wont be bought.

And in some cases these people go national. So it's not inconceivable that we have honest and decent people in elected offices.

People are bitten by the bug of ambition quite frequently. Great local politicians, sometimes, want to reach the national stage. Unfortunately, forces beyond their control frequently intrude, and render them exemplars of that oft-repeated phrase "politics as usual."

The national stage often corrupts people--even those who seek strenuously not to be corrupted.

In reality there are plenty of people who are working to help ordinary working class people. Not all politicians are in it simply for their own selfish purposes.

Tammy Duckworth - She is the real deal. I hope she goes far.

Bob Bennett is a good guy, even for a republican, but the teapugnicans here hated that he understood his job and knew how to do it well so they primary challenged him and won.

I heard she might be going for a senate seat. It would be a pleasure to vote for her.

yes, every human is self-serving. helping others can make us feel good about ourselves. the better politicians are motivated by that.

Seems like a nice person.

This is strange (a bill she sponsored):

"AB-69 details the terms which can no longer as stated in the law be used to “create a hostile work environment.” As codified in the law, the terms “supervisor, manager, overseer, team leader, leader, producer, director, controller, chair, boss, captain, head person, head honcho, authority, chief, chairperson, chairman, partner, inspector or any other term that may create a perception of inequity that an employee may perceive as harmful to their employment individuality.” Speaker Atkins stated, “This legislation in coordination with our recent law regarding bullying in the workplace will successfully create a harmonious environment for our residents which will enhance their life experience.”

And I suspect living and legislating in San Diego means her constituents (legal and illegal) effect her stance on certain projects intended to improve the life of illegal immigrants. I don't agree with this, being of the opinion we should take care of our damaged and homeless vets (and our other citizens) before we spend a penny on people from foreign countries trying to suck the teat of the United States. She calls the illegal Mexicans "undocumented" to show how they've managed to exploit a loophole in our laws that people like your senator like to hold open for them. These "back door" efforts are designed to benefit the rich and keep workers "illegal."

But, to get back to the subject, in my earlier post, I was talking about the people of wealth and power, and not the underlings that work for them. It appears Atkins steers her own ship. Do you think she will become our Governor?

The actual AB-69 for this session concerned the use of body cameras, was submitted by Rodriguez and chaptered (signed into law) in October; the one you cited was satire, I think the author chose the number either randomly or as a thinly veiled reference to their opinion of Atkins.
Actual AB-69:
http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201520160AB69
Journalist's clarification that it was satire:
http://townhall.com/columnists/brucebialosky/2015/08/02/new-california-law--no-bosses-n2032476/page/full

And while you may disagree with her political views, that isn't the same as her being "an ass" as the topic stated. She's actually pretty fair and level as far as I know of how she treats people and keeps her word. As far as I know she isn't running for governor. Kamala Harris or Gavin Newsom probably have a lock on the Dem side of that race for 2018. They also seem much more...ambitious than Toni, yet another reason she's not an ass!

I THOUGHT the AB-69 I read looked pretty flakey. Thanks for correcting me. I agree she does NOT appear "ass-like."

Let me guess - all Democrats. You mean only helping certain people get more "freebies" while the real "working class" works like dogs to pay for it all? Where's my cut? I don't see anyone saying that they will pay for my education. Why? Because I have a decent paying job, but that doesn't mean that I don't have school debt just like everyone else.
