I agree with most of that. It does seem we have some problems.

People are living longer, and the poor are not dying young as fast.

Even with removing the illegals, limiting immigration, bringing back jobs, automation and robotics are taking jobs.

Self driving trucks are coming soon. Robot miners, adding to the humans replaced by Software.

Our problems will be the extended retirements of people living to a hundred, and the displaced meat machines that drove trucks and forklifts, worked in the mines, lousing their place in the economy.

The example of Blacks becoming replaced by machines, then warehoused in prisons is expensive. Is this the best we can do at a cost of $25,000 per person per year?

From here, we cannot afford anything. We are way beyond broke. Costs keep rising.

Non working due to age, lack of jobs, will be increasing.

Our system is still based on the Factory Worker Model of a hundred years ago. Back then there were jobs for all.

It helped that people died at 45. It had always been like that. By the time Social Security started, people lived to 55.
Public Health did wonders, no one thought it would continue to rise. Life spans have doubled in a hundred years.

The future holds a lot less employment. I hope I am wrong. With more people than jobs, jobs that most people do not qualify for, we are going to have a growing non working class.

Getting ahead, I favor abolishing all welfare programs, and replacing them with a minimum income, with health care. For one, it un employs a vast horde of State and Federal desk sitters. It reduces government, the cost of government, and makes them available to the private sector.

It brings a stability to the life of the poor. An incentive to stay out of jail, seek education, and even if it takes years, break into the employed class.

It also gives an incentive to increase employment, such as tax deductions for employers, which reduce the cost of a minimum income.

We do have the potential for a Jobs Program, restoring Federal Lands, building new National Parks, things we need, that would provide paychecks to many. It would pay better than Minimum Income, and provide a group of employed who could be hired for better jobs.

Small towns are dying, old people are not, towns could be rebuilt to meet the needs of an older population, where 90 year olds run around in golf carts. 5,000 Mayberry Towns with 20,000 or so could bring a peace and quite to old people, and keep them off the Freeway.

Bomb Europe to rubble, they find an old picture and rebuild. In ten years you could not tell. America does not have a past, but we could invent one.

Most of us will get old, so there is self interest in parking spots for old people.

All of this open the main economy and cities for the current crop of workers. It gives them more space and lower rents. We want them to make money, lots of money, and raise families. Cities are the core of our culture.

It may be a Caste System, but it will have a place for each Caste.

Before my stalker shows up and calls me a NAZI again, when Hitler hired all of the unemployed German workers to build the Autobahn, and other projects, he created a worker shortage. Wages went up, demand went up, and before Hitler could finish his plan, most of his workers had been hired by private industry. He barely made it through the 1936 Olympics.

The Free Market will always try to drive down wages, hire illegals, flood the market with legals. It is in the best interest of Government to have high wages and full employment, because that is where the taxes come from.

It is in the best interest of The People to have an economy managed to put their labor in demand.

Some of this is new, people living forever, some we have been dealing with, unemployment, food stamps, welfare, and some is as old as the human condition.

One thing is sure, we can do better than current conditions.
