You can also ask what color the hat I'm wearing right now is, even though I'm not wearing a hat, or what there is north of the North Pole.
Just because a human language allows you to build a question grammatically doesn't mean the Universe actually contains anything which could be described by answering it. The question doesn't need to make sense.
Anyway, science is not about the ultimate "whys", unless you can formulate a hypothesis about them which you can deduce empirically testable predictions from.
