Few, if any, know their God from apotheosis or first-hand information.

Many believe they have personally "felt" God & therefore have first hand info.

:D :D

That would turn their faith to fact and belief and Jesus said that any true believer could do what he did and more.
None are stepping up to do so, so it seems that they are either lying of wrong about their feelings.

oops, just had a peak in this Gnosticism thread

Gnosticism:
- offers you a God that is distant, ahistorical
- a God that can never be seen or heard from
- cannot be depicted nor idolized
- does not have any name (and certainly not "Yahweh")
Theory:
- gnosticism is offspring of secularist societies, or a precurser to modern secularism, where people still want to remain religious in some sense, but don't believe in traditional religion
- a very "safe" type of religion, but a bit flawless

oops, ,and I'm out of this thread

Some of this is true to me but most is not really what Gnostic Christianity was invented for.

Some of this I can agree with but not most of it. That is not what Gnostic Christianity was invented for.
We do have a name for our God. I am, and yes, we mean us.

Knowledge (even of Holy Scriptures) without God /Holy Spirit) is like a screen door on a submarine.

I'm not a scholar nor debating

There are many idols that do not look like golden calfs.

One is wisdom

All but God is Dust in the Wind. (Words by KS the band and where I lay my head)
