I'm not? Most long term members know that I became a mod over a year ago, and AFAIK, I still am. There is a list of mod names in the forum elsewhere and my name still appears there.

I dunno I guess you are then, maybe you did edit my post after all... I can't keep up with who is a moderator if moderator does not show up in their title, a lot of people have come, gone, quit. Forum has too many bugs, I'm not 24 either!

Another baseless personal attack. Personal attacks are not permitted under the WP rules, and you are in breach of this rule. Cease and desist. An apology would also be appreciated.

You are being way too sensitive to a tongue in cheek statement now, I'm sorry if you read that as a personal attack but it's not. FWIW I have a hard time keeping track of posters and I think there is another poster with almost the exact screen name as yours, happens sometimes including to me. I recognize people quicker by their avatar or from their location. Go ask Alex why moderator doesn't show up under your ID and it does other moderators, a lot of odd buggy things like that on this forum and I don't know why it hasn't been fixed. At least the posters stuck as the wrong gender have finally been able to change.

I'd probably go talk to the mod that edited my post for not tagging their name into it at least as that seems to be an attempt to implicate you in your own thread. It didn't work since I didn't remember you were a mod so go figure!

Can you PM me a copy of the post and what was edited out (if anything) and I will restore it.

I have reviewed the thread and now I know what actually happened. No mod (including me) purposefully edited your post at all. What did happen was that I wrote a reply to you, which should have shown up as a separate post. I must have hit the "edit" instead of the "quote" button (they are side by side), with the result my reply material was added on to your post instead of appearing separately.

I now understand your upset, and this has been a two way misunderstanding. I apologise for my part in this, though there was no intention whatsoever. I knew that I hadn't edited any post of yours knowingly in this thread, so was baffled by your comments. They are now somewhat understandable.

I will separate my reply from your post to put it right. Thank goodness that the software allows that correction. I understand how upsetting that must have been. I would have felt very put out in the same circumstance. When I make "real edits" (as the other mods do) it is made clear that they are real edits.

I hope you do realise and accept that this was a form of click error.

(the accidental text has now been removed).

Fair enough, I'm glad I held my tongue instead of accusing another mod by name. With a separate post then fine, it's a difference of opinion but to be edited in like that especially without any tag saying who it was felt like I was being specifically singled out and reprimanded. I had a thread closed the other day for petty reasons, so you can see how it was becoming a pattern in my mind.

I'm ready for the election to be over, it's been fun at times but you get better discussion in non-election seasons with people with more a genuine interest in the topics versus it being the biggest news story in the world and it replicating the talking heads on tv screaming at each other. I am pretty young but this is definitely the most divided I ever seen this country and I was pretty profoundly effected by the sentiment in the US after 9/11 at that age I was, it truly was a special time to be an American and it's such a stark contrast to the way things are now. It was the only time in my life that I ever felt there be unity in this country, I don't know if the cynicism and hatred now present would ever allow there to be another time like that.

You have to wonder if there will be any winners, really, at all. I fear that whatever the outcome of the election, there may be an ongoing conflict situation for a long time, though I hope this won't happen, and that WP returns to its normal soon.

Thank you for your understanding about the processing error. You weren't to know what had actually happened at the time (nor did I) and given that your response was made in that context, it is perfectly understandable that you felt as you did at the time. I probably would have felt exactly the same.
